Lips. It’s a Microsoft-published karaoke videogame. The object of the videogame is to blow into a glowing microphone while a real song plays in the background. More air equals more points. Earned points can then be used to buy Galaxies, Super Novas, and rights to Depeche Mode singles. But players don’t have to unlock every song -- the videogame has an Xbox LIVE Marketplace tab with downloadable music for sale. Microsoft updates this list with fresh artists every once in a while, and according to the latest Lips press release, will continue to do so through October.
Popular Jazz band En Vogue and pop culture success Deep Blue Something have contributed songs to Lips this afternoon. On October 9th, Duncan Sheiks’ “Barely Breathing,” and Erasure’s “Always” will also appear. In fact, every Friday this month will bring new downloadable goodies to the game. Hit the break for the full list, but prepare yourself, these songs are f’ing stellar.
