Lionhead reveals Fable II 'Knothole Island' DLC photo

Today, Lionhead announced their big downloadable content secret for Fable II, which unsurprisingly takes the form of an entirely new area called Knothole Island. The content will sweep adventurers to a “remote” island with a climate similar to that of Antarctica. The area is now frozen over and only the best (or the worst) of Albion can restore it to its previous glory.

Knothole Island will be available for download on December 12 for 800 Microsoft space bucks. It promises several new quests, and enemies to face as well as cooperative opportunities if you have a buddy willing to download it as well. In addition to your purchase, you’ll receive several new items not specific to the DLC. These items include the Knight’s Boots, Assassin’s Gloves, a weight loss potion, a collectible silver book, and “more.”

This is what I’ve been waiting for in terms of Fable DLC – new areas and items. I’m really digging the Assassin’s gloves, because it shows the promise of at least two more of these packages. Only the chest piece can be found in Fable II.

I love fable 2 to death, but this island better be massive for 800 or I might have to pass.

I read about this earlier. Sounds kinda spiffy. I just hope it's actually worth the 800 points, and not some lame 10 minute side-quest.

Oooh this looks pretty cool. I'm still loving Fable 2, so i'm pretty exciting about this. I'm also glad they are adding this content pretty shortly after the launch of the game, unlike R*'s strategy.

Think this will be DLC or part of the package when it finally comes out on PC?

I really love Fable 2, but the DLC better be freaking enormous for 800 points.

SOLD!

Plus, if they don't cop out, it forces you to really live with whatever decision you made at the end of the main story.

I was extraordinarily disappointed with Fable 2, but I'll probably be getting the DLC anyway.

I'm such a sucker.

How about fixing the game instead!?
I can't interact with any objects because i have a message at the top of the screen that says "Press 'A' to skip conversation" as a result of a bug in the "Rescuing Charlie" quest.

The pricing sounds reasonable. I really hope the island is nice and beefy with content.

I love this game, and I'd play more if I had more to do.

(I am king of Albion, after all.)

;)

I still haven't even beaten Fable 2 (too many other games!) but I have a friend who loves it and has done about everything there is to do already, so he'll be pumped. I'll pick it up, too though. I bought the Mass Effect DLC and still haven't played it, though I know I will, so no biggie.

I wish they would spend some time developing a patch to fix the millions of game stopping bugs in the game rather than develop more DLC.

I love the game, but they really need to patch it.

Knothole Glade was my favorite town in the first Fable. It's a shame that it's climate is all screwy, as I dug the rainy swamp vibe it had. Regardless, I may need to move my "family" there... Plus, new items are always welcome...

seriously, you blimp out after only one or two bits of pie; how the hell does that work

Could... could there truly be hope for Barnum yet?!
