During his London-based BAFTA lecture last evening, Peter Molyneux lobbed a second
Fable III-related announcement to crowd --
Fable III is to support Project Natal and it’s controller-less funny business.
Judging by industry tweets of the event (via
VG247), the Lionhead Studios boss seemed to short on the details of how Natal would factor into the RPG. We’re guessing it will have a minimalistic role, perhaps as a way to convey taunts or boasts like fist pumping or farting, but that’s wholly unconfirmed. For all we know, Molyneux may use it to put a drop of metal and flair in his one-button combat system.
But if by chance we can flip off our televisions and a little heroic avatar responds in like, well, then we’re looking at a new age of gaming, folks.
Woo.
I'm betting if they use Natal it's going to be for those lame ass job mini-games. Because we all know they were fun, right? Or maybe we can pretend we are throwing something and the dog is going to fetch it. Boy howdy that would be gaming nirvana. Or just maybe if we close our eyes hard enough and imagine we are holding a sword and swinging it we'll actually feel like we are the hero!
It's GENIUS I tell you!
Actually I played it on 360 at a friend's and thought it was terrible, but still, on principle, port to PC kthanks.
Oh, and motion controls look stupid.
Hope I'm wrong but whatever.
Get off my lawn.
Also, natal support unsells me on this game.
You're getting a PC port of Ninja Blade, what else do you need?
Dedicated Servers in COD MW2 would be nice...
You PC people and your dedicated servers. I play on 360 mainly so the idea of dedicated servers really does nothing for me. I had a hellish time trying to connect to PC games back in the day, especially anything on Steam. I tried tweaking everything I could think of and my luck was erratic. Matchingmaking, otoh, has proved pretty stable for me. I've rarely been DC'd from a game, unless of course the host decides to rage quit. And finding a game generally takes about 10-30 seconds from push to play. Maybe I just have terrible luck with PC stuff.
Actually, yes, I do.
But come on, NINJA BLADE. Clearly one of the defining titles of this generation. And YOU get to play it. Be excited.
No, you didn't read it correctly. It says Fable 3 will be a revolutionary, genre defining experience the likes of which no gamer has seen before, or is likely to see again. It will change the world. It will change the way you perceive the world and all within it.
That's what it says. And this time he means it. Seriously.
What are you talking about? Fable was on PC and Microsoft ports everything eventually, that is why I expect and want Fable 2.
well, you heard it here first. peter molyneau must be telling the truth or he wouldn't say it with such vigor this time.
But I hope for an "imagine you're holding a sword and shield" fail - that would make me laugh so hard, I'd probably piss myself a little.
Oh Natal, you're the faggiest idea I've ever seen.
