Here it is. The Linkin Park music video for Medal of Honor that you were all waiting for.
Oh, you had forgotten about it? Well, Linkin Park's song "The Catalyst" is the title song for the upcoming Medal of Honor. You know, the game where you may or may not choose to play as Al-Qaeda. The video not only features some guys (band members?) roaming around in a truck with some guns, but also plenty of new gameplay footage for you to tear through.
I'm not the biggest fan of the song, or Linkin Park, for that matter (and the video is all over the place), but it must be said that the game is looking really damn good. It's pretty clear that EA is going balls-out with its story for this sucker and getting very dramatic with the game. That seems to jive pretty well with what we saw when we previewed the game.
Fans of Linkin Park, is the song up to snuff?

I mean, I LOVE Shinoda. The guy has collaborated with some of the rap game's greats, like Chali2NA, Handsome Boy Modelling School, and Pharoah Monche - he clearly knows the game, and can drop some pretty awesome beats down when he wants to.
But Linkin Park, starting from Breaking the Habit, started to go WAY downhill, and go a completely different direction from Shinoda's rap roots. Fort Minor was a good side project, but it really failed to impress.
Long story short, I hope Mike breaks off soon and starts collaborating with what good rappers are left - perhaps something with MF Doom?
'Dey Sold out, man.'
Nah but really(cause I hate it when people say that), MoH isn't looking too interesting to me personally at the moment. Maybe I just haven't seen enough of it yet to pass judgement. It looks nice and all, but It seems something like Bad Company 2 will just better.
Personally, not sure about the song. The beginning parts sound weird, but when it turns into an actual rock song, it's much better. Plus it didn't seem like a real cohesive song. Maybe it's just clips or some weird mix? I'll reserve judgement until the song hits the radio to see what the official release is like.
Game itself is still lookin pretty good. I'm loving the beards.
Also, the song was ok as a linkin park fan. They could've made it more dramatic and I was surprised when I saw the gunshots ripping into the aircraft and hitting everyone. The driving situations and the close ups were great also.
The game however is not my cup of alcoholic beverage.
Same. I hope it doesn't turn out to be some 6 hour game too. There is a chance here for a nice story, and a fat, plump game, aleast 10 Hours or so.
but what the fuck was that. All this hype for The Catalyst and THIS is it?
wat
Where Linkin Park is concerned you can take them or leave or leave them though the trailer didn't appear to use the song to keep any real sense of rhythm or timing, barely even to set the mood until the closing moments. The whole thing was full of Michael Bay stylization that barely works in the confines and a 90 minute movie (in my opinion) let alone when it's condensed into a 4 minute trailer. It was like watching Black Hawk Down whilst drunk and wearing lightly tinted sunglasses.
The song is not the complete song, so can't say anything about that...
No offence, it's just not my bag.
I did not know that it wasn't finished. If that is true then I suppose I take back my comment about the song... for now! I guess I just expected a different sound, but who doesn't get disappointed when that happens? I still have hope though.
The juxtaposition between Delta operators and angsty poser rockers was pretty awesome(ly funny :( )
Yeah, if you listen to the song preview on iTunes it's a little bit different, and it's only 30 seconds so god knows how the rest sounds like...

i sure do love linkin park in an un-ironic, completely legitimate way!
You forgot to talk about how badly linkin park sucks. Because they suck, badly.
I don't get it does that mean I missed a word or something?
lol @K1ng. "If you don't like it, GTFO". Didn't realize I was in a LP appreciation thread. My bad.
@Usedtabe: well, as with any music, if u don't like it, don't listen. U have choice of what ur ears can hear.
