Link makes (unofficial) appearance in 3D Dot Game Heroes photo

Uh oh! As if the accusations of "ZOMG ZELDA RIP-OFF" weren't bad enough, From Software has stirred the pot by releasing character creation data that allows players to create their very own Link. Everything has come full circle as the classic Zelda hero is now technically playable in From's shameless Zelda homage.

A number of customers who bought 3D Dot Game Heroes from Yodobashi Camera received a special edition bonus disc that contained character creation data on it, allowing players to make such heroes as "Box Man," "White Thing," "Tank," and "Dracula." Among them is a character called "Green Hat." Load it up and you get the pictured character.

From Software, you are a bunch of cheeky scallywags!

ZOMG ZELDA RIP-OFF

On a serious note; If I wanted to play Zelda, why not play Zelda?

@Rammstein: Because this isn't Zelda.

I mean, why play Ratchet and Clank when I can just play Mario, and why play any JPRG when I can just play Dragon Quest over and over again?

Anyways, I'm surprised it took as long as it did for this to show up. I expected this within seconds of the game's release, not the next day.

"On a serious note; If I wanted to play Zelda, why not play Zelda?"

No offense, but that's a somewhat ignorant statement. I want to play this because it's got a sense of humor, it looks gorgeous, and it's made by the developer of one of my favorite RPGs of all time. It's going to be great. That's why I want to play this and not Zelda.

I suppose it was only a matter of time. But then, I expected a fan to do this, not From Software itself.

Link is Right-handed.

@Crock:
You mean Link is Left-Handed, not Right-handed like the picture shows.

Link has always been Left-Handed except for in Twilight Princess where Nintendo didn't think people could waggle their left hands.

Aw they got the hair wrong. If they wanted it to be "classic" it should be brown.

I wish i had a PS3 :/

I definitely want to play as "green hat" haha. I love Zelda, but cmon, this game has so much charm of its own, and even the parts it tries to mock about other games are just great.

Now all it needs is a way to pull of Master Chief and the circle is now complete. We then offer a(n un)willing human sacrifice!

Man, I am really getting scared about this game. These guys are going to fool around and land themselves in court before the game is ever released in NA. Then I'm going to have to stumble through a Japanese version if I ever hope to play it.

From Software: KNOCK IT OFF!

So your definition of playing something new is playing a parody of something that you dont want to play anymore?
