Without any irony I must say that I'm really excited to play Band Hero. Don't laugh.
While I'm listening to Dillinger Escape Plan's Calculating Infinity right now, next up in the queue is Kelly Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted. While there's no Clarkson in Band Hero (there should be -- girl can sing!), I think you see where I'm going with this: I don't hate on top 40 radio.
So while some are turning up their noses at Band Hero, I'll be the first in line to jump on the drums and pound away to Katrina & The Waves' "Walking on Sunshine." Or play guitar on Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer" like I'm a god damn living room rock n' roll god. Or sing Taylor Swift's "Picture to Burn" at the top of my lungs while standing on my couch.
Those are the three songs in the demo for Band Hero, which is now available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. It's available for everyone but those in Asia. Because Asia hates Katrina & The Waves... I think.

If I could afford BH I so would get it but as it stands I can't but I totally didn't expect the demo to show up soon. Marvin Gaye, Whip It, Our Lips Are Sealed, so much good shit. But it's either this or DJ Hero so I figure Acti is getting my money threefold.
All this demo taught me is how much I suck without Hyperspeed.

Also, I cannot stand Paralyzer. I cannot hear that song anywhere without it being accompanied by some lame fucking Naruto AMV or something.
It's E10+ instead of T, so they are trying for a more "Now That's What I Call Music!" demographic instead of people who like traditional rock music.
Pretty much people who read People magazine will love this game.

It's pretty horrible.
First off, the sound is awful. The volume levels are very low and there is hardly any separation in any speakers. Compared to Rock band its like listening to AM radio radio vs a CD, its really that bad.
Secondly the game is really dumbed down, you cant fail, you don't know your score until you are finished with the song, the only thing you can see is your multiplier.
I did like the Jump in at anytime and play aspect borrowed from GH5 but thats about the only positive.
The songs in the demo are good,but they sound bad and the game mechanic is, well made for small children.
Any serious Plastic Instrument player Wont enjoy this at all.
I know it's been done before.
