As per the nintendo phone market debate, here's my take on it. I don't think it's about diluting their franchises or about releasing sub-par games on the phone market, I think the issue is a lore more of a core concept and it's their image. They've been going on 30 years strong as having a very unique and extremely recognizable product in the gaming market, and getting mario and link and samus dropped onto a product that Nintendo is unable to scrutinize and check that it's up to their level of standards (remember, nintendo systems/carts ARE IMMORTAL) it's just too much of a risk to throw their namesakes out there.
It would be like Conrad grabbing the first shmuck he saw on the forums to host his next show. Never thought I'd ever drop this line but..... I should blog about this..
