Lightning Returns: FFXIIILightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII track hits iTunes photo

Did you enjoy the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII debut trailer released last week? Or more importantly, did you enjoy the electronic remix of the Final Fantasy XIII battle theme, "Blinded by Light," that was featured in the video? If you did, then Square Enix has just the thing for you.

I noticed a listing on VGMdb for a single titled "Crimson Blitz" from Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII for the Japanese iTunes store. When I searched to see if it was available on the North America iTunes store, it was, and even better, it's available for only $0.69. It features Final Fantasy XIII composer Masashi Hamauzu with Square Enix's own Ryo Yamazaki on arrangement duty, so check it out if you're interested.

After hearing Final Fantasy XIII-2's highly-varied and vocal soundtrack, are you looking forward to what they do with Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantas-free: 14 day Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn trial

Square Enix is offering 14 days of free Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PC. As someone who doesn't like MMOs, but likes Final Fantasy, I might just try it out. Fourteen may be the perfect number of days for me to get my fill. Or maybe I'll find myself a convert and end up a paying customer, as Square Enix likely hopes. more

Final Fantasy director Tetsuya Nomura designed a Batman figure that looks like a Gundam

Square Enix has partnered WB and DC for a PlayArts Kai line of Batman toys designed by Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura. Not a single zipper in sight. The first prototype, above, is gracing Comic Con and looking a bit like Death Scythe from Gundam Wing (with some Spawn in there, maybe).more

Video: You could win the Theatrhythm: Curtain Call contest, I definitely won't

As we reported earlier today, Square-Enix is holding a contest to win some fabulous Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call prizes. All you have to do is create a short video of your own musical rendition of the Final Fantasy "Main Theme". I took the opportunity to try to turn this news report into an entry for the contest. I probably won't win.more
