Liberty City gets Google Maps treatment

Liberty City gets Google Maps treatment photo
     PS3

God bless Rockstar for including a gigantic fold-out map of Liberty City with every copy of Grand Theft Auto IV. Without it, I might have never been able to find that bar to get the QUB3D achievement. But what a pain in the ass it was dealing with that unwieldy map -- it's four times the size of my coffee table, and it folds in 72 different places.

IGN has the answer -- an interactive, detailed virtual map of Liberty City. Powered by Google Maps, everything you'll need is here, from vehicle locations to the hottest entertainment spots in Liberty City. Zoom in, zoom out, add markers ... this is definitely going to be a helpful tool for anyone who plans on spending any time with GTA IV.

According to the in-game statistics, I've dumped hours into this game, and yet I haven't seen half of what's on this map. The game is huge, and I'm going to take my time seeing all of the sights, both online and off. Is there anyone who is truly done with this game yet, and if so, how's unemployment working out for you?

This is so amazing. I'm glad I have my computer right next to my couch. I can easily play and use this map at the same time. Also, I haven't come close to finishing the game yet. I think it will take me a damn long time because I keep getting distracted from my missions in the game.

I actually am just quitting my 9 hour a day, 5 days a week job tomorrow, in lieu of a 4 hours an evening. 4 evenings a week job starting monday. The excuse is to start working on making a game, but it happily coincides with today's purchase of GTA4.

I took it way back to the old school and bought the strategy guide.

I know, thats crazy but I like having it. I spent hours yesterday just tracking down hidden weapons and armor.

then sitting on top of buildings and shooting people in their cars as they waited at red lights.

heads falling on the horn is sweet.

I'm definitely going to use this for all of the jump and pigeon placements. Other than that, though, I'd sorta rather find everything on my own. My hat's off to whomever made it, however.

24.45 hours in and i have only completed 28.2% of the game. I find that even if the main storyline could be completed in 30 hours that would require you to ignore your friends and dates. it also took me 4 hours just to complete the Bruise exotic car list. so to get 100% will take far more time then everyone thinks it will im betting somewhere from 80-100 hours min. either way i have a great feeling that 100's of hours will be spent on this game over then next year.

~12 hours and 25%+, and that's watching every NBA playoff game too.
I've decided to play through without aids until the main plot is done, but this map just got bookmarked for after another ~30 hours of gametime.
