Ah, Level 5. I like those guys. I'd like them to make more games. Less portable ones would be nice. Oh, and U.S. releases would be fantastic. You know. Just whatever. If you're listening.
They are working on some Wii and PlayStation 3 games, though. Akihiro Hino, Level 5's president, said that his company has some PS3 and Wii titles in development at a company meeting. Of course, no names of titles were given. We'll have to wait until later this year. Maybe they'll have something at the 2010 Tokyo Game Show to put in their inexplicably large show floor booth.
We know that a sequel to White Knight Chronicles is coming to the PS3. Other than that, it's anyone's guess.
Speaking of White Knight Chronicles, I'm currently playing it for a Destructoid review. I didn't love it at first, but it has grown on me. Nothing fancy, but I'm enjoying it. Look for our review soon.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
So it looks like SE, DS and Wii games for me in the future from them. PS3 collaborations with Sony I'll remain skeptical of as they've bored me to tears thus far. Maybe one will surprise me eventually but Dark Cloud, Rouge Galaxy and WKC have not been among them.
We know that one of the PS3 games is White Knight Chronicles 2...
And we know that one of the Wii games is Dragon Quest X...
So, that's two of 'em!
With all of the DS games they're woking on, could they possibly be working on any more than this? They don't have a huge dev team, do they?
RPGs are about which one? Being bland or being fun and immersive?
I also hope they are doing DQX for the Wii, but I fear I recall that SE is doing the actual development themselves. Lousy SE.
Just name it like "Dark Cloud: Something Something" so as not to make it seem unapproachable to new players.
DO IT, LEVEL 5! DO IT!
Gotta love Level 5 for always trying something different.
I wasn't impressed by what I saw of the game, independent of what the reviewer had to say. The art direction and story looked uninspired, and the MMO-ish combat looked boring. I can't believe the game was developed by the same people that brought us Prof. Layton, which just oozes character.
But to each his own, I guess.
Agreed. DO IT, LEVEL 5, NAO. :O)
