Level-5 announces Fantasy Life for the Nintendo DS photo

The Level-5 Vision Press Conference that recently took place was chock full of good news like a new Professor Layton game containing an extra RPG, details on the Professor Layton movie and more, but surely Mother 3 fans will have to still their beating hearts when they get a good look at Fantasy Life, a new DS title being worked on by Brownie Brown, who also gave Mother 3 its iconic look. Check out more screens from the game over at Famitsu.

Final Fantasy veteran Nobuo Uematsu will be working on the score for the game, which will consist of 21 tracks. Each one of these tracks will be associated with a certain character in the game as well. uh ... Level-5? Between this and No Ni Kuni, you're killing me here. I've never wanted two games so badly in my entire life.

This looks wonderful. Actually it kind of reminds me of Little King's Story, which is the best compliment I can pay it.

It goes without saying, but here's hoping for an American release!

I got one question, Can Zelda only make Zelda type games...?

How come no one makes a simple birds eye view hack and slash game where you have to use weapons you gain through the game to hit the end boss in his "sweet spots?" ...or use em to open doors?

Just a question while Im naked at work.

I'd have to agree with you there. Two games I desperately want. Level 5 is becoming one of my favorite developers.

@ GooN
You do realize the Zelda games aren't made by Zelda herself, right? Also, what are you talking about?

@Deathofthedead

Yeah thanks for the update twat. I know it isnt made by Zelda I was just saying why cant anybody run with the Zelda Idea and make a similar game that is a fun action/rpg. ((Not just like or roundabout)) but a zelda game that has different character models, same concept, but not titled Zelda. It seems to me that Zelda sells like hot chocolate and nobody rips off their idea... I was wondering.

Again naked and concerned about my burnt penis since i just stirred my co-workers coffee.

@DinnertimeNinja

I tried Okami but I was a wolf with a gay brush... (Im not knocking you by the way) ....but I was looking for a secret of mana, secret of evermore, illusion of gaia, legend of zelda but for a next gen (i hate that word lol) system.

People say Persona 3 and other crap but thats like final fantasy and I hate FF (sorry fans of that series).

I want an action/RPG with a sword and shield kinda thing going on. And yes I played Oblivion Fallout 3 but was just looking for something a little more retro with a birds eye view.

Oh and NOT that mother game or Earthbound or stuff like that. Im talking weapons armor and maybe a few chickens. :)

PS I watched my co worker drink the coffee LOL

GooN: Look into Demon's Souls for PS3, in two months. Not a birds-eye-view, but it's worth investigating.

Anyway, way happy for the Brownie Brown love. Their style is just so damned charming, and I want to get both Fantasy Life and Layton 4 because of it. The premise of FL is really neat, too.

Fuck...why is the DS so good? It already had two of my favorite games ever on it(Kirby Super Star Ultra and Pokemon SoulSilver). This could be another.

@GooN
Have you played Alundra for the PSX? It is very Zelda like.

On topic: This game make me wish I had a DS. And money. In fact, just money, that way I could buy a DS.

And god, the graphics look so much like Mother 3, it brings a tear to my eye...
