I hope you enjoyed the Dtoid Wii tribute. It's April Fools weekend; let's have some fun! Starting with something very silly that I've been keeping from most of you. I've been working on a video game for a bit. Well, mostly drawing stuff for a video game I hope to one day make is probably a more accurate description.
Before I started Destructoid I was working on an ambitious 2D game called Pinkslip with a few friends and co-workers. We called ourselves Groupie Games (as in we're not quite Rockstar but would like to get in their pants) and worked on the engine 2-3 times a week after our day jobs until the Red Bull went dry or the girlfriends complained -- whichever came first. So what became of it? People moved away, lost interest, started families, and otherwise moved on to other projects. People suck!
The larger scope of the project is on permanent vacation until the free time presents itself to finish it, but I kept working on a much smaller version on my own in Flash to show a proof of concept a-la Alien Hominid. Tomorrow I'll give you a taste of what this sorry excuse of an indie game maker has been up to. It's funny to be on the other side: the critic is making a game? I can't wait for your brutal feedback!
