This seems cruel and unusual to unleash on an unsuspecting public. As if anything new with the words DS and Pokemon don't already fly off the shelf, the powers that be have fused both these concepts together to form a bright yellow holy grail of canary consumerist porn: the Pokemon DS Lite. It gets worse -- you can't just go out and buy one of these things. There is a process!
Siliconera is reporting that gamers will actually have to submit an application to buy one. If they get their application in between June 1 and July 1 they may be one of the lucky few who get a postcard letting them know Nintendo thinks they are worthy of the honor of buying one of these systems.

lol and Oh well, Nintendo Power is having a contest in their latest magazine for a Palkia and Dialgia DS Lite that look just as good as that one.
You could just mod your systems to whatever color you please...plus you wouldn't have to have your stuff recognized as the "_______-version" DS.
