Can you imagine what it might be like to spend your entire life as a respected musician, then have some little twerp completely wipe out your legacy with a five minute Warcraft joke? It's criminal. Thus, Destructoid would like to take a moment to honor the original Leroy Jenkins who inspired the name:
Leroy Jenkins was arguably the most pivotal free-jazz violinist of the ’60s — internationally renowned for both his compositional and improvisational skills and vision in merging jazz and blues with a European classical sensibility — longtime AACM member Leroy Jenkins passed away Saturday, Feb. 24 in New York. Several sources report lung cancer as the cause of death. Jenkins was 74.
