LEGO Universe to offer free-to-play experience in August
It was only a matter of time before LEGO Universe offered a free-to-play component. This is planned for August as a digital version of the MMO. Rather than go the micro-transactions route, access to content will be limited for free players. They'll be able to play through two adventure zones and a single player property area, which is where you get to build your own LEGO objects. Full game access will still cost $10 per month, so don't think this is a total, freebie-centric overhaul. Still, letting people who merely want to dabble in LEGO Universe do exactly that is a good thing.

Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)I remember when I saw a CBBC thing talking about this in 2005, so early in devolpement its didnt have a name yet! Amazon's full of negative reviews about L:U based around the hurdles involved in cancelling a monthly subscription. Some say you have to mine the purest black ice from the coldest reaches of Hades and present it among other mystical items to the Lego Master-figs before you can appeal to have your cancellation considered at "some point" on the Valve-timescale of "soon" and "Never ever".
