Lego Star Wars III is sounding better and better photo

I have some misgivings about Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. For one, I think the lego mini figures look ridiculous with those big bulbous eyes. Second, I couldn't care less about The Clone Wars story. I enjoy the show, but it's usually just as good with the sound off.

The good news is, it looks like not all of the game will take place during The Clone Wars time-frame. According to a mini-interview with USAToday, we'll get to relive key scenes from the films as well, including a reenactment of the climactic battle at Geonosis at the end of Attack of the Clones. It might be tough to pull of a battle of that scope, but it sounds like Traveler's Tales up to the task. They're planning on pushing the game's engine as hard as they can, with +300 interactive characters planned for some scenes.

There will also be playable characters from other Star Wars storylines, such as The Force Unleashed, with over 175 playable characters in all. I seriously hope they stick an E.T. in there. Lego E.T. would kick ass.

Five things you didn't know about Lego Star Wars III [USAToday]

Clone Wars: the most violent cartoon meant for kids made by an American company.

As far as more recent stuff goes, anyway.

The phrase is I COULDN'T care less, not I COULD care less. Could implies you care, which isn't the point of the phrase.

Except when somebody says 'could care less', we know what they mean, so nitpicking it is just being an asshole.

He's just correcting him so Holmes doesn't make the mistake again. Cool down.

And I forgot to leave my own comment. Crap. Anyway, I was going to say that I had the original for GameCube which kicked ass. Hoping this one will be just as good.

Eh, all about Clone Wars? They should make it about the expanded universe, with Yuuzhan Vong, Mandalorian Wars and TFU storyline...

I'm still crossing my fingers and praying for a LEGO LOTR, but in the interim this and Pirates Of the Caribbean will have to suffice.

As I understand it, there are some elements of RTS in this game, with medium-sized battles between clone troopers and the droid enemies. My interest is piqued at this revelation.

I'm pretty much the same way, Jon. I buy the LEGO series on PS2 to save $10, and not have to deal with the motion controls.

Surprisingly enough, pretty much every LEGO game STILL comes out on PS2! That's amazing from-the-grave support!

They're two different phrases, both work.

This might be my first Lego game. Love the show and the new RTS stuff looks cool so I think I'm in. Oh and visit the offical site because it's really neat.

@ Magnalon- Good point, mang. I'm still rocking a PS2 compatible, first run PS3. If this game comes out on the Ps2, I may just go that route (assuming it's notably cheaper than the Wii version).

Lego Star Wars 2 was one of my favorite games on the PSP. (The first one I liked too, but LSW2 on PSP was a beast). Lego Indy and Lego Batman felt inferior, since most of the puzzles involved punching everything until you found something to build (unlike the SW puzzles, which were greats), and the combat was boring (the sabers that can deflect shots, the force pushes and the unlimited laser rifles are way better than some puny punches, boomerangs and some guns with very limited ammo). So that said, I think I'll buy LSW3 for my PSP (UMD though, I'm not risking wasting a PSN buy, those ones are very limited in my case so I don't wish to end up with an unwanted title).

"Clone Wars: the most violent cartoon meant for kids made by an American company."

I agree, I sometimes can't believe some of the things they do on it considering it's an American cartoon geared towards kids. I quite enjoyed and personally feel it gets better every season. Looking foward to season 3 starting back up.
I'll be checking out the reviews for this and hope it turns out well.

Meh, enjoyment of Lego games relies incredibly on source material I find.

Lego Indianna Jones & Lego Batman were both dull games to me as I simply don't care much for the respective stories.

But I've put more hours into Lego Harry Potter this week than Fallout NV and Dead Rising put together.

With that said, I want to buy this, and the technical advancements sound fantastic, but if they're used to enhance the rescue of Jabba the Hutt's conveniently never mentioned son, then I couldn't give a squid.

Roll on Lego Hobbit/LOTR.

@Jon

Lego HP wasn't on PS2, and with all the added polish this one has doubt it'll be heading the way of the older model either.

@Vallanthaz - 'could care less' has its own usage, so using it in the reverse situation is misleading and frankly, ignorant. The only assholes are the ones who complain when corrected. Live and learn. We'd all be much better people for it.

I prefer the "older" Clone Wars cartoon, but this one isn't really bad.

Anyway the RTS-system looks fun and to answer Lycan XIII question:
I suppose that thing is Gor, General Grievous' pet-thing.
