Legend of Mana coming to PlayStation Network tomorrow photo

Square Enix's Legend of Mana is heading to the PSN's PSOne Classics channel, that you may indulge in its delectable wares on the PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable -- hey gang, it's your choice.

The game is set in the world of Fa'Diel, which has become somewhat formless after the Mana Tree was burned down. The player's job is to complete quests in order to find special artifacts that can be placed on a map to rebuild the world. There are over sixty quests and artifacts to uncover, because this comes from an age where it was standard to beat in a game in six months.

The game got mixed reviews when it launched, but it's most certainly a pedigree titles. It's awesome to see the North American PSN get so many of those lately.

Was kinda hoping they weren't going to space out Parasite Eve 2 before The 3rd Birthday launched, but then I wasn't going to get 3rd Birthday right away anyway.

I still have Secret of Mana waiting to be played on VC, dunno if I ever actually did finish it back in the SNES days.

Does this Legend of Mana feature coop play the same way as Secret of Mana? If so, how many players?

This is all happening so fast!

I eagerly await Brave Fencer Musashi.

I should have gone to wikipedia first. Yes, there is multiplayer, and as far as I know it accepts 2 players.

It's a good game, although it has its problems. The main issue is that there isn't really a core task or story. You basically do a bunch of mini-stories and move on.

This was the first game I ever preordered. I held that preorder sli, cause that is what we got back in my day, like gold. Suffice to say, this will be added to the collection tomorrow

Coop 2 player... But player 2 has a character that changes at every quest, so it's not as good. I remember being player 2 with all these guests characters, some were alright. Many sucked.

So many Squaresoft games heading to the Playstation Network! Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve, and now Legend of Mana. This is awesome.

Now all we need is Threads of Fate, Chrono Cross, and Brave Fencer Musashi. Also, Sony needs to move their ass and finally release Legend of Dragoon as well.

I think I'm gonna hop over to play-asia and buy one of their digital US PSN codes sometime in the near future. For £17 of my english pounds I should be able to get Xenogears, Parasite Eve and whatever else America gets on their service that Europe could never hope to see.

This was always one of my favorite. I enjoyed the game play, the depth of the side quests and the characters. The game essentially had three different stories. My only objection to the game was that while your character progressed the story, it never felt as if they were a part of any of the story rather than a bystander.

Ha! Great news!! Of course, I already have the disc version and a BC PS3, but I still may download this. I like to have digital copies of my games, movies, music, etc.

I was so excited for this game when it came out... and so completely disappointed when I played it. It left a bad taste in my mouth, and I think may have been the first time I was truly disappointed by a Square game.

Additionally, this is one of those games I tend to use as an example of why nonlinearity is not always a good thing.

Pretty good game, so long as you can accept that it's hardly like Secret of Mana. Also, short. I don't remember much about it... when I was about fifteen, I borrowed it from a friend over a weekend while I was recovering from foot sugery, and beat it in a weekend.

I sure wish it was more like Secret of Mana... at least we'll always have Secret of Evermore though, right?

That's it, I'm going to get me some online American PSN card cash and purchase Xenogears, Parasite Eve and Legend of Mana in one fell swoop. Screw the European PSN Store.

Pretty fantastic game. I'm glad they're finally putting all the good old RPGs on the Playstation Network. We still need Valkyrie Profile, though. Yes, I know it got remade. I want it on a home console.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place... I pre-ordered this back in the day. I almost want to buy it again just to support it.

If you're into heavy systems based RPGs, this is probably very relevant to your interests.

And yes, I'm waiting for Brave Fencer Musashi as well. My disc is so scratched I can't get past the transition after beating the fire boss. =(

AWESOME! Once they threw up vagrant story I knew that sooner or later they were going to add the rest of these games from my formative year. I remember getting this, Vagrant Story, FF9 and Chrono Cross all that year. They were all amazing, it may have been my favorite year in gaming.

FUCK!!!! YES!!!!

This is the game I whole heartedly herald as my favorite game of all time. I recently went back and started a fresh character(as I still has disk copies). Mmm... it's as good a beat'em up RPG hybrid as I remember.

Too bad I never got to play it coop before. Wonder if this will have it now with PSN support. That would be awesome.
