If you're a fan of Left 4 Dead 2, then this video is exactly appropriate, and I recommend that you check it out right now. Left 4 Dead 2 is mercilessly parodied in a surprisingly funny cartoon that makes you first think it's going to be a trite and unfunny slice of sardonic self-reference, but quickly becomes incredibly humorous.
Check it out. It's worth it for the Spitter's little moment of glory alone. FOOTBALL! YEAH!

I can't be the only one that finds it really fucking irritating when we're dragged through a parody by a smarmy jackass that remarks openly on the absurdity of the situation while surrounded by complete idiots that are obviously meant to demonstrate how very very smart and undeserving of having to deal with the absurdity the aforementioned smarmy jackass is.
it smacks of an egocentricity that's just as if not more ripe for parody than the things the respective authors seem to believe they're cleverly subverting, and I get the sense you have to be in that mind set (or else an XD SO RANDOM mindset) to find it funny.
I mean, ellis being stupid isn't even a parody. it's part of the point of his character. that's why he does stupid shit like say "hey nick, remember when we ran on that roller coaster?" in the safe room immediately after the roller coaster level. nick being a dick isn't a parody either.
I guess it isn't really at all surprising that the character who clearly thinks he's above the situation and all the surrounding characters would be the obvious choice for author surrogate but I'd like to think a work of satire would at least attempt to be more clever than that.
Hopeless Savage: I agree with you for the most part, but I think this video manages to sidestep that by being genuinely funny. Yeah, the overall framework of the video has been done before countless times, but the stuff within that framework is damn amusing.
For anyone that cares this video has a few internet/nerd "celebrities" in the voice acting cast. Coach is played by Happy Harry, the guy who did the amazing "Saturday Morning Watchmen" flash animation while Nick is voiced by Sonicmega, a long time flash/radioplay/machinima voice actor who was crowned AX Idol in 2009 by the Professional voice actors from Bang Zoom!
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
This is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
FOOTBALL, HE-YEAH!
Shame they released this as a new video instead of DLC. (Harde har, see what I did there)

SHUT UP HOPELESS SAVAGE NO ONE CARES
U mad?
Also, yeah...about the charger? That explains EVERYTHING.
if I got mad every time gamers did something stupid I'd be a creature of pure, inconsolable rage.
I just think that things should be good instead of bad. =(
Don't watch it.
well obviously I didn't watch it knowing I wasn't going to enjoy it beforehand.
sterling recommended it, and sterling's usually right about things.
'I hope mine's a football'
That was not genuinely funny. It was genuinely stupid.
Love,
Josh
