Left 4 Dead's system specs have arrived photo

Unsure about which system you should buy Left 4 Dead for? Now that the system requirements for the PC version are floating around the net, that decision may become painfully obvious for those with ancient computers.

OS: Windows Vista, XP or 2000
CPU: 3.0 GHz P4, Dual Core 2.0 or AMD64X2 (or higher)
RAM: 1 GB for XP / 2GB for Vista
DISC DRIVE: DVD-ROM Drive
HARD DRIVE: At least 7.5 GB of free space
VIDEO: Direct X 9 compatible video card (Video card must be 256 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for pixel shader 2.0)
SOUND: Direct X 9.0c compatible sound card

Major props should be given to the Source engine once again for allowing the system specs to be as low as they are, but what's up with the hefty amount of HDD space required for installation? Where are we supposed to stash our porn now!?

Still can't make up your mind on the old console vs. PC debate? You've got until November 18 to decide.

Before Minecraft, Notch made a crappy Sonic fan game

A great way to waste time is to Google any odd topic that happens to pop into your head and play a game of link tag until you strike pay dirt. My latest excursion led me to Sonic Racer 4K, a Java-based Sonic fan game. But wha...more

Carmack's Oculus rift and Half-Life left for Left 4 Dead

In this latest installment of Office Chat, I'm joined by Jim Sterling and Jordan Devore to commiserate over Valve's seeming decision to prioritize Left 4 Dead 3 ahead of Half-Life 3. Plus, John Carmack has joined the team developing the Oculus Rift VR headset, but is anybody going to care anymore once the thing is actually in consumer hands?more
