Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Some random geeks from 1UP have gotten their hands on Left 4 Dead, the upcoming co-op zombie game where you can either play as the small group of survivors or the neverending hordes of zombies trying to prevent said humans from finding the princess. While the video does show off quite a lot of the game itself, you're going to have to endure a bit of lame, MTV-style e-diary of the aforementioned nerds trying to act cool and talk about their experience playing the game. I'm surprised one of them doesn't have a cigarette or a Halo 2 t-shirt on.

Seriously, watch how excited they get each time they say a naughty word. It's like when the infant in the car seat starts saying "Uncle Roy's a homo!" and everyone starts laughing, so the kid just keeps on saying it and everyone keeps on laughing. Then finally Uncle Roy gets upset and jumps out the car window. Matter of fact, it's exactly like that.

Special thanks to Dtoids #356,721 fan Matthew for the link. Your absolutely nothing is in the mail. Enjoy!

OK, watching the whole video, that woman seems to be getting waaay to excited, I think she is very much not IRL. She sems actually upset when she talks about her virtual death.

@Wardrox
Virtual deaths are painful, specially when other players survive and they make fun of you after that.

BTW, if anybody has UT2k4 you really should check out the Killing floor mod.

One of the things I love about Destructoid, is how you guys keep the pro Zombie stance going. Without you, they would still be hanging out in the unemployment line, waiting for their next gig.

Video Rocks, by the way.

Game looks decent, but it seems like the two talking might have been coerced through monetary means to hype it a little bit. I'm still stoked though.

and this vid is WAY over hyping this though, and it doesn't need it. Co-op zombie FPS what more hype do we need? Thanks for the vid 1UP but damn, calm down.

@MOO, technically the "4" is being used because there are always four human survivors. Unless one of them is a whiny chick who dies on the helicopter pad. Then it would be left "Left 3 Dead" which is just plain ridiculous.

So, Mister "Mr. Haley" are we not all "geeks" or "nerds"? I'm not sure anyone at D-toid (or on the Net in general) gets to poke fun at someone else for their over-enthusiastic gratuitous profanity and game-love. They work at a gaming site; it stands to reason they like games. Just saying'.
William Haley's Avatar
William Haley at 04/21/2007 16:27
Kurabi, there are different levels of nerdiness and geekdom. Some embrace it and make the uncool cool, some are just flat out nerds still trying to wash the toilet cleanser out of their hair, while others are uncool nerds painfully trying to achieve a status other than the one they fall under. Nobody wants to see two lame-ass gamers talking to each other about their gaming experience. We dont buy $60 games called "Nerd Coversations". When I write for the magazines or Dtoid I don't make you skip through pictures of my trip to Cabo just to get to the article itself. The story should be the game, not the people who played it. Internet famous is for tools and clown shoes.

Is one of those nerds your hero or something? Haley is right, who gives a fuck about the people talking, I hate when I have to look at over zealous editors in their reviews when I SHOULD be seeing gameplay footage... but if you're into watching a bunch of happy noobs clapping like seals, you should try seaworld. I hear they have discounts for crying emo kids.

I don't meet a lot of girl game geeks in my daily life, so the 1Up chick is kind of refreshing. Lord knows I prattle away about the games I love to my friends, but I'd feel stupid doing it in front of a camera.

-> Blindeside: It's also getting a PC release, a few months earlier too. It uses the source engine(from HL2), so hopefully it won't be too demanding systemwise.

I love my iMac so I won't be getting a PC.

And I like my Wii so far. I am always skeptical of Xbox cause there aren't many 360 games I would actually WANT.

And how many wii games would you actually want? I'm serious btw, not trying to troll. So far I've played Twilight Princess on my wii and laughed hysterically at everything else they have to offer atm.

I have some games:

Zelda
ExciteTruck
Red Steel
Raving Rabbids
Elebits
SSX Blur

i think that is it...Zelda was good but about 8.5. ExciteTruck is AWESOME, I don't play much Elebits or Rabbids anyore except Rabbis for Parties. SSX is tough but can be fun. Red Steel wasn't as terrible as everyone says, if you actually sit own and TRY to learn the controls, it is playable and at times enjoyable!

Wii games I am looking forward to:

Obscure 2(the first was AWESOME!)
Manhunt2
Metroid Prime 3: corruption
Super smash bros Brawl
Mario Galaxy
Project Hammer
Disaster: Day of Crisis
Resident Evil 4
Umbrella Chronicles

I think that is a healthy list.

To each, their own, but I don't know how any Wii owner could actually be "happy" with the list of current/announced Wii games (unless it was the most casual of gamer who is more excited about the hype than the challenge). Dude, if you love your Wii, congrats. Personally, I'm really disappointed with it so far.

Going back to Left 4 Dead, I am so hot for this game.

Shoot, I listed a bunch of good games going to come out on the Wii but can't you compare the current game list to the 360 and PS3 list and see pretty much the same thing?
