Left 4 Dead comes to PS3, thanks to EA photo

Let's recap. First, the survival horror zombie hotness known as Left 4 Dead was "confirmed" to be an Xbox 360/PC exclusive. This hit about the same time as the rumor that it was actually coming to the PS3, though this was shot down by Valve's Doug Lombardi who says "There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead announced, nor in development. Not sure how that got started."

Then in May, it all seemed pretty final when Valve said that they are "not PS3 developers." They may not be, but EA is.

According to a little blurb in the Official PlayStation Magazine, Left 4 Dead is coming to the PS3, with Electronic Arts taking on the development duties. See, we just needed someone to think outside the box!

PS3-only owners, what do you say? Thank the nice developer!

Sweet! Of course, now I have to go read up on the game...I'd been completely ignoring it because I knew it was a PC/360 exclusive, and I only have a PS3.

Good news. I'll be picking it up I think. Ill probably get both the PC and the PS3 versions like I did with orange box and what I plan on doing for bioshock.

oh god damn i love EA now, i didn't buy the orange box because of the problems... But it seems that EA has patched all the issues away, which seems promising for this port

another game that i might have to get then :D

I used to like valve...they made some of my favorite games, but their needless hating on the PS3 is just unacceptable.

This is awesome news. I loved Orange Box and I don't own an Xbox360 so this really makes me happy. I'll trade some FFXIII for Left 4 Dead any day of the week!

Valve is a PC developer by nature and I think the only reason why there is a 360 version is because the code can be quite similar for both...

Still, money says the PC version of this game will be the one to own, just like the PC version of the OB games...

Everyone understands by now that gabe newell is a fat idiot and a dyed-in-the-wool microsoftie, right? THAT'S the reason Valve doesn't develop for PS3 themselves, not because he thinks the hardware is "shit." Though of course he's going to say that because never been out of the microsoft bubble.

Remember, this is the idiot who loves microsoft crap so much that he had his company's network hacked because they were running BETA microsoft code. I wouldn't trust microsoft shit if it were v10.5 and final.
