Left 4 Dead 2: It sold a lot of copies. Valve's co-op zombie apocalypse simulator has been a great success, shifting over two million copies in just two weeks. The game has doubled the sales of the original title, and that doesn't even include purchases made via Steam. These are all retail numbers.
Doug Lombardi has also confirmed that the first batch of Left 4 Dead 2 DLC will be announced very soon. It's unclear as to what that will entail, but I'm still holding out for Midnight Riders stuff.
While views are polarized on Left 4 Dead 2, I still think it's a very worthy sequel and deserving of success. I'm glad to hear that Valve has had such a huge hit on its hands. Let's face it, if any developer deserves a little mainstream success, it's those guys.

L4d1 was one of my favorite games of all time, then l4d2 trumped it completely.
In before anybody else tells you that L4D2 isn't RE:Outbreak. They're completely different games. Oooh, they have zombies in them, they must be completely comparable. By your logic, I'm gonna throw out that Plants Vs. Zombies is better then any of the resident evil games. Since.. you know, they're directly comparable.
Your last line summed up your entire post, really. That is, you don't like Valve. Whoopty doo? Good luck with your failed crusade, I guess. I'll be over here if you need me, not mindlessly hating video games, and instead actually enjoying them for what they are.
RE: Outbreak is not a 4-player online first person co-op shooter with heavy team elements.
It's a third person horror shooting game with a loosely tacked on multiplayer feature.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Midnight Riders were a decoy, I mean come on, there happens to be 4 members in the band? I know thats common and everything but it seems so obvious.
Personally I'd like to see CEDA Operatives and Id like a bit of meat for the background regarding 'carriers'.

ahah you mean that lame ass half level that I can finish in under 15 minutes and 2 multiplayer maps and a "survival" mode that should have been included with the game at launch.. Oh I keep forgetting, I have been "spoiled" by Valve and I shouldn't complain.. Fuck that.. I have spoiled Gabe's fat ass by purchasing everything his company has ever released in the last 10 years until they fucking turned on their fans to make a quick buck. Valve can lick my fuckin balls.
Game is fantastic. The first game was great and sucked me in but I felt it was lacking overall. L4D2 filled in all the stuff I didn't even know I wanted and made it completely solid. It's worth the price for Scavenge Mode alone.
The only real downside is Rochelle has no soul. But other then that, fantastic game, and probably the most fun co-op experience I've ever played. The only thing that even comes close is Rock Band and Castle Crashers.
So, the point is thus: BRING ON THE DLC! :D

@shadowiii - It was lacking....CRICKET BATS. You may have a point about Rochelle though, its either a lack of soul or her "AXE me a question" line.
Had a fantastic game of Survival earlier, lasted nearly 7 minutes on Dead Center, the teamwork was there and we were kicking booty until 2 tanks turned up to ruin things. More L4D is a good thing in my books.
