Left 4 Dead 2's Midnight Riders have a blog and stuff photo

Following on from our discovery of a Midnight Riders teaser site, we've just been tipped offLeft 4 Dead 2's resident rock band now has a blog, as well as a Youtube channel. Check it out because it's brilliant stuff! The blog reveals that despite the "Green Flu," the Riders are still touring because America needs MUSIC!

"So I’m sure y’all have heard by now that yer ol’ pal Dusty said a few controversial things at the Waynesboro, Oklahoma show last night, coming down pretty hard against cancer research," says one blog entry. "I just wanna say that we totally support our pal, even though officially the Midnight Riders do not endorse any of the opinions voiced by Dusty last night, nor condone his actions afterwards, when a journalist asked him why he loved cancer and Dusty knifed him between the ribs."

Quite what all the promotion is for, we cannot say, but it seems like Valve is definitely going to be pushing The Midnight Riders in some capacity. Since fake rock bands are nearly always great, this is something we won't be complaining about. Even if The Midnight Riders' second album was released a year after the first one and was just a glorified expansion that we should boycott.

We're quite excited to see where this all could lead. Hopefully all sorts of fun things are in store.

[Thanks, Entrager!]

Ahahaha, yes! Just pre-ordered the Midnight Riders shirt from the site, and looking forward to what this is all leading up to. The last entry in the blog says the next show is at Whispering Oaks, and that's where they were air-lifted from... OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY

I'm really excited to see what Valve is going to do with the Midnight Riders. I really hope that this is a sign of some good ol DLC that won't get screwed over when it comes to the 360.

I love it when studios put this much work into the fiction surrounding their game. I just subscribed to their youtube channel on the off chance something is added again,

It could be pretty funny if another campaign was created where the party is replaced by the Midnight Riders, but thats most because I'm tired of hearing Rochelle's dialogue. Almost makes me wish they would have just half assed it and created Zoey's twin sister instead since they seemed to be insistent on filling the "girl" character archetype. Every character has made me laugh out loud at least one in both games, but Rochelle.

Now, I would say <3 Valve here, but this is the first Valve game to actually have a DLC menu. That screams PDLC to me. So I shall hold judgement.
Although I have faith in Valve that it's free, after what IW pulled with CoD, anything could happen.

I thins point, Valve has been awesome to its customers. I don't think I would mind paying for DLC. They deserve to get paid for their hard work.

...23 albums? In 25 years, with some of them being spent in prison? I can't think of any REAL bands that do that, let alone fictitious ones.

Seen the videos, ripped the audio, and subscribed to the channel.
I love you Valve.
And don't look at me like that for ripping the audio, they release a commerical album, and I'll be first in line to buy it.

@ viralhunter ;-)

Puns can be funny, but that one was like nails across the chalk board of my soul. I wanted to beat her to death with the bat I was carrying when I heard that one.

1)L4D2 DLC pretty-please.
2)They need to be in Rock Band 3. If Still Alive and Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld can make it, these guys can.

I really hope this is a new campaign starring them... could be anything though, really.

Personally my top priority for the L4D team right now is a patch that adds a lot of stuff from L4D2 into the original... the new gore, the new weapons, the new infected, etc. Knowing Valve and how they treat their PC versions I very much expect this to happen on some level.

Fuck yes, I would LOVE to play as the Midnight Riders. I don't see what else this could be other than DLC, and I really hope it isn't too much on the 360.

Oh, and btw Dtoid, there was a little bit of information on the old survivors in the latest OXM. It's a little tab at the bottom of the page that says Valve hinted that they might tell more of the old survivor's stories after the release of L4D2 :)

So stingingvelvet you want valve to turn l4d into l4d2 for free? Is that what you are saying?

I want "Re: Your Brains" as DLC for Rock Band. Also, the Midnight Riders remind me of ZZ Topp.

I'm pretty sure it'd only be allowed if you owned the original. You CAN buy them in a bundle pack, after all.

DLC is great and everything, but I wish they would fix the achievements/stat wiping that has been plaguing the PC players, then I could get legitimately excited for this.

Really? I know that there were hints the other day, but why is there DLC? The game hasn't been out a week and we already have talk of this. Thankfully I have the PC version, so this will all be free.

Uh, it's very probable on PC, if Valve doesn't do it the modders will.

Expand your horizons.

It wouldn't really make sense if the Midnight Riders were playable in DLC. Although it would be cool, what are the chances the whole band being immune?
