Valve has confirmed that some handy changes are coming to Left 4 Dead 2's Versus mode, mostly giving a little boost to those of the Infected persuasion. Infected teams who find themselves lacking a few players will no longer have to go it alone, as Infected bots will now replace missing players as standard.
Another really helpful change will be the fact that auto-spawns no longer happen during finales. This is splendidly good news as the auto-spawns in Left 4 Dead 2 started getting really borked. I once spawned right in front of a Survivor, who of course shot me dead before I could even do anything. This won't be a problem in future.
The update will arrive for both the Xbox 360 and superior PC versions. Good time for all!

You need to try and get a team together and just use the Team Matchmaking option.
Teams of peolple rarely, if ever quit.
If not that, then something else. You shouldn't have to play on team mode and happen to have 3 other friends that want to play in order to play L4D2.
The amount of rage quitting in this game really is awful.
Also, Team Matchmaking this time around is a joke. Even if you ask for custom games, the program will (not always but sometimes) still throw you into a game that's already started.
It's the main reason why I just haven't enjoyed L4D2 like I thought I would.
I'm glad they're fixing the instant-spawn thing, though to be fair its less of a 'fix' since nothing was broken, it was just a poor game-mechanic. And as for the lack of infected AI, I've been in a few games where we're lucky to get an AI taking over when we go Tank but it shouldn't have to be about luck, so this is good news.
@callouspenguin: fail troll is fail. Your mommy telling you to get off the 'Box isn't the usual reason for people's quitting because no one I've gone against ever left abruptly. Its always directly after their pug team just got face-owned. Nice try though, I give your attempt a 2/5 for effort.
Also, I wonder if the bots attack on their own or when your team does? Coordination is key in that game, so I'll be interested in how they work.
If your parents are about to tuck you in, or whatever, then don't start a game of Left 4 Dead knowing it could take an hour or more. Why can't you think beyond the next 2 minutes of your life?
The rest of your rambling had to do with how you can't understand why somebody would want to improve left 4 dead's multiplayer. I mean, how am I not supposed to think that's one of the stupidest things I've heard in awhile? You don't want people to find ways to make games even more fun.

Yeah, that'd be a nice fix. Don't see why the stupid AI tank has control for the first 5 seconds.
We play for fun. We're not going to play through 2 hours of getting our faces stomped out of some retarded sense of honor.
The game needs a matchmaking system based on player skill, not to penalize people trying to enjoy their limited free time.
If there's going to be bots for the infected now,
does that mean the timer will always be maxed out at 25-30 seconds to respawn?
I forget how long it actually is.
And will the tank, being chosen at random, actually have a chance to just be AI?
