Learn how to run a convenience store with your DS! photo

Well, not really. But you can get a feel for what it would be like with a new DS release from the Conveni series of games.

The Japan-only Conveni series of games are great fun. Think of them as a sort of convenience store sim, where you design and build your own store, and then run it. It is much more fun than it sounds. I own and regularly fail at the first two Sega Saturn versions, and additional titles were also released for the PC and PlayStation in Japan.

Siliconera says that the series is making its DS debut, thanks to Nippon Ichi and Hamster.  Conveni DS: Otona no Keiei Ryoku Training (The Conveni DS: Adult's Management Power Training) will hopefully train you to keep those hot dogs fresh and the soda machines clean. Oh, and keep the damned lids stocked, will ya?

Wouldn't it be great to own a 7-11 one day? You could totally drink all the slurpee hybrid drinks you've ever dreamed of -- all day, every day!

Dammit. s0lesurviv0r stole my joke.

I'd rather play Menace 2 Society convenience store anyway.

I TAKE OFFENSE TO THAT, MECHAMONKEY!

...but then, every single 7-11 in my area has Indian or Bangladeshi proprietors.
