Leaked Prince of Persia 4 screenshots and info? photo

I have no idea what Surfer Girl Reviews is, or where it came from (the blog has only ten posts to date, with only two being videogame related), but here we go ...

*clears throat*

Surfer Girl Reviews are reporting that they have acquired the first screenshots for the forthcoming Prince of Persia title, which they are calling Prince of Persia 4/0/Ghosts of the Past. They go on to say that the multiplatform title (PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, PC) will feature a younger Prince than seen in previous PoP triolgy, will be a prequel to that series, and signal the start of the new trilogy.

The style of the game is said to be closer to The Sands of Time, Ico, and Zelda, ditching the darker, angrier edge of the last two games. Just quickly glancing at these images, it certainly has an Ico/Shadow of the Colossus feel to it.

While we can safely assume that there's a new Prince of Persia game being developed by Ubisoft, there's nothing here that gives us confidence that these images and this info is legitimate. Still, you never know, and only time will tell*.

* That was not an intentional reference to the Sands of Time trilogy, because that would have been awful if it were. I promise.

These look more like possible screenshots of the "sequel" to Shadow of the Colossus that was mistakenly mentioned by Kaz Hirai I think it was last week or so? No? Was it someone else? If so, you all prolly know what I am talking about.

It doesn't look like PoP at all, which I don't like. It doesn't appear to be as Middle Eastern-themed or dare I say... Persian?

Looking at those screens, it looks more like Ico than PoP. It also doesn't look like a 360 or PS3 game.

Gamestop ran this rumor as noted on the Sufer Girl page and said there was a good chance that this was true. If it is true, find it interesting that Ubisoft will continue expanding on the previous trilogy's canonicity and keep the timeline consistent. I just wonder if they'll be trying to tie in the original game to the timeline or let sleeping dogs lie.

Working at Ubisoft, those kind of stories makes me laugh at all the speculation and theories that come from those kind of "news".

I can't say anything about the specifics, but a little over a year ago I was on a focus group for this game, and trust me, it's PoP 4. The two screenshots don't do it justice, but when you see the prince flipping all over that mountain, you know it's PoP

Jaytapp will be hunting down T0MSERV0?

Looks okish, I hope it's nothing like WW or that third one which I banned from memory.

Fuck Persia. Where's my Son of Sparta?

I'd love to see a more fairytale-esque take on the whole thing. That's what made the first game so great. It felt lifted straight out of Arabian Nights. The other two just felt like garbage that had to be macho to justify itself, completely losing the point in the process.

On Wii please. With decent controls. Is that too much to ask?

That looks more like the Princess of Persia. It also looks seriously lame. The Two Thrones was a fine end to the series...why do they have to resurrect this franchise?

Oh, wait...I forgot: it prints money. In that case, why not?

Dude this game sells like 400k each time it's released. I don't think that's a license to print money. I haven't bought any of them since the first one.
