Ready for your first in-motion look at the God of War Collection? Look no further than below this bit of text. A clever someone has leaked a bit of trailer footage from the Collection, in the process showing a higher-resolution Kratos killing higher-resolution nasties and baddies in higher-resolution environments. Watcher beware, though: This video is terrible -- the music cracks and pops and the camera person has a problem with keeping his hand steady.

With the annoyances and generally low quality nature of the footage in mind, we’re still seeing a bit of awesome in this footage. God of War and God of War 2 are indeed looking as sharp as we imagined they could be in such a package.

The God of War Collection is set to release at some point in 2009. It will contain 720p version of the original PlayStation titles and even a God of War 3 demo.

I thought the God of War Collection was THE "(leaked)annoying, bad" one, whoo, that scared the hell out of me...

That being said, can't wait to play this in 720p. :)

Just went through GoW and GoW II for the first time in the last couple weeks so I can't really see myself getting the collection, but it does sound pretty nifty.

Sorry about that... Anyway If he's going to illegally videotape something, at least get decent equipment to do it. That's what I learned back in my staling days.

You'll have to repeat this post. David Jaffe can't believe that it's 2009 and there are still people releasing GOW 1 and 2.

Your video player is annoying, bad.

Also, your headline is a bit misleading.

I fucking love the second level of God of War 2.

That music is so fucking awesome and of course the level itself is just sweet.

Just saying that cause I saw that big blue faced dude from that level.

Can't remember his name right now though......

Its better if you watch it without sound.

I still think its hilarious that I re-ordered both games literally two weeks before they announced this.

FYI people...

If you record video on ANY video camera... Check your settings and make sure your sound is set to 16 bit sound.

This sounds like 12 bit sound processing errors, which are well documented on many video editing platforms.

Packing the GOW3 demo with this is just icing on the cake. Rereleases featuring hi-def widescreen and trophies for $40? So brilliant, so obvious. Bring on ICO/SOTC!

I'm skeptical of this footage, it could easily be the game upscaled with smoothing on in a ps3. But it looks like it fills the screen which isn't what ps3 upscaling does.

@Brain

No, Just no, I've played GOW on my ps3, and I can tell you it looks like shit upscaled with smoothing enabled, it looks better when I switch it to 480p.

Damn on that large screen it almost appears to be 1080p, but can't really tell.

Without updated textures, it looks a little... weird, like GL Quake if anybody still remembers that. It's all smooth and shiny. At least it's priced right. I'll probably still buy it.
