It's not that often I find myself anticipating a game so much as to go to a midnight launch. Unless Steam lets me preload the game and unlock it right at midnight, chances are, I can hold off until the next day.

However, not too long ago, I found myself at the GameStop on Powell Street in downtown San Francisco, counting down the hours until the release of the new World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King.

Surprisingly, it wasn't all underage boys and sleeping bags. To keep the consumers busy (and to keep them from disrupting sidewalk traffic), GameStop brought out all kinds of shenanigans for this launch. With everything from face painting to the Lich King's own throne, they sure had enough things going on to keep even the most ADD-afflicted player at bay.
