You know what today is, don't you? An average, boring Wednesday. But exactly one week from now? Why that's the day Banjo-Tooie comes out on Xbox LIVE Arcade, of course.

At 1200 Microsoft Points, I can understand how some of you might be hesitant to purchase the game, especially if you already own the N64 cartridge. Still, there are a couple of enticing reasons out there, like full support for Stop 'N' Swop, an improved draw distance, and a smoother frame rate.

Or, if you're a competitive prick like I can be from time to time, there's always the online leaderboards to look forward to. Rare has given us a few screenshots and a trailer for Banjo-Tooie, which should bring back both the happy and painful (see: Saucer of Peril) memories.

David Wise and Grant Kirkhope join Project Ukulele

I need to take some deep breaths here. Former Rare developers are creating a spiritual successor to "those fondly remembered platforming adventures we built in the past," and they've brought on Grant Kirkhope, David Wise, an...more

Could this be it? A true Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor?

We've been let down before, but I'm unable to contain my enthusiasm for Playtonic Games' Project Ukulele, a new platforming adventure from the people we want making this type of game. Formed by six former Rare staffers, the s...more
