NBA 2K10 -- arguably the best basketball series this side of NBA Jam -- is slated to hit retail on October 6th. That’s soon. Considering the proximity to release, it’s only natural that we post up the latest trailer for the title that 2K Sports blasted to the media earlier this afternoon. If you dig what the 2K Sports brand delivers, feel free to click the button thing in the header.

It’s a short video, mainly showcasing the ebb and flow of the game behind some decent music. The Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose is the star of the show here, and in the teaser you’ll get to watch him do all sorts of awesome basketball/SPORTS stuff like, uh, dribble … and dunk … and juke.

Sadly, no flaming basketballs are shown in the video. But, hey, at least there's some back-kissing. Gilbert Arenas (the guy in the blue jersey) sure looks surprised, eh?

Oh if you are getting this game Mr. Nicholson, we will have to turn our cooperative adventures into an adversarial affair. What I am saying is that you should get it for the 360 and we shall play.

I grew up with NBA Jam, but I might have to say that NBA Street is an even better game with insane-o dunks.

On topic, the NBA 2K series is fuckin' fantastic.

Anybody else notice that the 2k trailers are never more than 2 seconds of continuous footage? I'm not necessarily implying that 2k won't be a decent game but it seems like they've been on the decline for the last 2 iterations. I was completely turned off by the 2k8 full court press and 2k9 was just plain broken when it was released to the public... What gives?
Did Mike Wang really have that much of an impact? If so, I might have to spend my money with EA Sports this year. I bought both games last year because 2k9 was so disappointing. Live 09 was solid, though definitely unfinished. Anyone else think 2k might have fallen off?
