Of all of the games that were delayed last year, I was surprised how much I was upset by Activision pushing Blur into 2010. Having played some four player split-screen, I've been sold on the game's high intensity, Mario Kart meets Project Gotham action for awhile.
This latest trailer -- which focuses on the game's "unique racing culture" and story progression -- seems to do the game justice as well. Slick visuals, fast cars, and stuff blowing up. One of the devs says you'll earn fans in your career by "doing cool things." Example: shooting lightning out of the ass end of your car. What more can you ask for, really?
Blur is set to ship this spring for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
But even though this looks really pretty there's something about that just feels wrong.
I really hope the 'story' explains how stock cars are firing laser balls though. Through some kind of nanomolecular matrix weapon system integrated into the...nuclear...power grid?
That.
