Rounding out the eight professions in Guild Wars 2 is the Mesmer, which was revealed by ArenaNet today. This class type uses illusory magic, like clones and phantasms, to confuse and take down enemies. For years in gaming we've been fighting foes with such abilities, so it's nice to take on the role for once.
The development team has also taken to Reddit for an AMA (Ask Me Anything), divulging that the game's closed beta will commence on Friday -- though it sounds very much like a limited affair. Even still, it's progress! Give the thread a read if you intend to keep up with Guild Wars 2, which you should.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

The redesign the Mesmer got for GW2 are extremely interesting. I never cared much for playing a Mesmer in Guild Wars (though I always liked the concept) but this one looks like something I'll HAVE to play as.
The reddit AMA thread has some pretty good info, but aside from the confirmation of the closed beta starting on Friday, I don't think there was ultimately a whole lot of really new things (if you've been keeping up with this like I have).
Cannot WAIT for this game to come out. We're getting so close.
As beautiful as the first Guild Wars (still) is, it runs pretty well on somewhat old hardware. The specs haven't been announced, and naturally won't be until the game gets near its release. I'd say if you think you're interested in the game at this point, keep it on your radar. When requirements are unveiled you (or, should I say, we all) might be surprised.
chances are that GW2 will run on even crummy computers, arenanet is damn good at letting lower end comps run there games
I'm sad the Dervish class isn't back. I hope with the expansion they bring it back. I'm excited the game is almost here.
I need this game.
My main GW1 character has been R/Me since GW's launch and my second most played character is a Mesmer I run pure, so this does make me a very happy bunny.
