Today, Hudson announced the next game in an exciting line-up of WiiWare titles called Pit Crew Panic!. The game is being described as a “panic-action” game that will have players manning an all-female pit crew fixing cars as quickly as possible before the game’s clock runs out.

Hudson describes the various cars that need to be fixed as “WHATSITS." WHATSITS are cars with a curious organic twist. The list includes great examples such as a wedding cake, aircraft carrier, a car with a birthday cake engine, and a backhoe. Obviously, the game isn’t confining itself to just purely mechanical objects. Pit Crew will also have multiplayer support and allow for cooperative matches of up to four people divided into two groups.

How the hell do you fix a sunflower car with a Wii remote, you ask? It’s simple – just use it as an extension of the tools the game provides. Instead of waggling, players will be turning the remote to simulate the movement of screwdrivers and other tools. You’ll get that sunflower fixed in no time. We promise.

Fix a Variety of Wacky "WHATSITS" With Your All-Female Pit Crew

REDWOOD CITY, CA. - November 11, 2008 - Hudson Entertainment, the North
American publishing arm of HUDSON SOFT, today announced that they will
bring Pit Crew Panic!, an all-new "panic-action" game, to WiiWare.
This unique game is full of frantic fixing as the player's pit crew
repairs a variety of bizarre "WHATSITS" as fast as they can.

"Pit Crew Panic is crazy enough when playing alone," said Sabine
Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson Entertainment.
"But when you play this game with friends, either offline or online,
it goes beyond crazy. Endeavoring mechanics will find that it's a ton
of fun when there are four people waving Wii Remotes around to fix
parts on a giant broken toilet!"

Players can race against the clock on their own or can play with
friends to see whose team can fix the majority of that giant wedding
cake! Inspired grease monkeys can even play online and see whose girls
can out-fix the opponents on an aircraft carrier, a bridge, a backhoe
and many more crazy "WHATSITS"! If a pit crew is up for the challenge,
they can team up for 2 vs. 2 or 3 vs. 1 action to see which team can
fix the most broken parts on each object.

To help the crew fix each object more quickly, players can use the Wii
Remote just like a screwdriver, wrench, or other pit crew tools. There
is also a handy tutorial to help players figure out not just how to
play the game, but also how to go as fast as they can when fixing all
the wacky "WHATSITS" in the game!

Pit Crew Panic! is rated E for Everyone by the Entertainment Software
Rating Board (ESRB).

Do you actually get to race the cars afterwords? If not, then what's the point, it's only half the game. It's like a shooter where you get to customize your gun yet not shoot it.

Game looks bad even in a screen shot. I'd think it was pixelated b/c it's a port of an old game if the people weren't in Mii style. The Wii's weak but developers aren't even pushing it as much as Turok 2 did the N64. Their efforts imply they don't expect the platforms audience prefers better graphics or better games, presumably b/c they're not gamers and chose Wiimotes b/c they don't know how to use a 6axis, keyboard+mouse, or 360 controller. The Wii's games are tumbleweeds in a wasteland, like those on the N-Gage or a cell phone.

Cheesy WHATSITS. :O)

Btw, some of those ladies look a little under-clothed in the event of a huge Verstappen-style fireball erupting from the fuel hose.

I said hose. *snort*
