They continually milk the broken version of the game and refused to localize the best version of the game.
Its like leaving the stallion in the stable while putting a broken down horse in the derby
b) SRPG. bleah. I'm playing Front Mission 3 on my PSP, but it's the only SRPG I've been able to get into so far (and I'm trying to think about when I actually started playing VIDYA GAMEZ, I'm damn close to my 30th anniversary). I pirated Final Fantasy Tactics back when the PS1 was my main machine, and I've hated SRPGs ever since. There's a JP PSP game that's both Rhythm game and Date Sim; the only thing worse could be adding a SRPG element.
For the uninitiated, how much was really changed for the censored version?
My point is *of course* they're going to publish the censored US version. Just because y'all like the garbage that is SRPGs doesn't matter to me :)
Basically all Christian imagery was removed, namely depictions of the cross on character sprites, animations, and and scenery. Also some terminology was altered, such as changing "Hell" to "Dark World".
This is clearly a perverted sex game!
Oh,it's a Playstation game ? Phew, thank God we have Steam to protect us from perverted games like this.
@flintmech: You were able to a) understand what "region-free" means and b) create a JP PSN account and use it, but aren't sure if you can do the same thing with an EU account? I'd rather have bad taste than whatever you're suffering from.
Anyway this thread practically begs for trolling so maybe that is what the "censors" saw.
"There are well organized forces that work hard to punish software makers and sellers for what they consider religious transgressions. As a very small and brand new publisher without deep pockets we need to pick and choose our battles. Had we thought the crosses were meaningful we would have fought. But they weren't. And we'd much rather have the game widely available then [sic] face disappointed gamers who cannot find the title. It was the right decision, though as we grow as company we may make different calls in the future."
Still not as awesome as Soul Nomad and the World Eaters, but whaddaya' gunna' do?
PS, localize La Pucelle: Ragnarok for PSP, as it has the actual canon ending and the states/europe never got to see it.
Other accounts are actually no problem. I am located in Germany and I have a US and a UK account in additon to the German one. You only have to get store credits for the region you intend to purchase the game in. Ebay helps.
Why can't they understand what the real hardcores demand in their games?
That's right, a gun shaped like a cross for some reason.
Everyone, let's band together and demand more crosses in video games. For America.
