Hey, remember La-Mulana? It's that revamped indie PC action adventure title inspired by Castlevania, Indiana Jones, Mickey Mouse, The Terminator, and classic MSX games of old, originally scheduled to hit WiiWare in late 2010. Well, the game finally made it to WiiWare in Japan, but according to the game's official blog, we haven't seen the game out of its native country yet because of the "Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle". That's the games ratings board of Germany, affectionately know as the "USK". U-S-K you say? More like S-U-C-K.... S.
Right. Moving on.
Nigoro (the game's developer) submitted the game for review to the ESRB, OFLC, and the USK about two months ago. OFLC and the ESRB have the game rated and ready to go, but the USK still hasn't finished their job yet. Nigoro says their waiting on the USK's rating before the release the localized build of the game, so they can put it out in Europe and the U.S. at about the same time.
If you're reading this Nigoro, you've got to stop the madness. Get La-Mulana out in the U.S. as soon as possible, as the Wii is currently in the midst of its worst drought ever. Wii owners are desperate to play anything right now, as they wait for Kirby Returns to Dreamland, Bit.Trip Complete, Rhythm Heaven Wii, and Skyward Sword to be released later in the year. If there was ever a time that a great-but-unassuming title like La-Mulana could steal the spotlight, it's now.

Right on. How did every company decide not to have a big release for the Wii for all of these months? What puzzles me even more is that no one is having a marketing push for older titles (for example red steel 2, no more heroes, etc.
Nooooo! I read this in the newsletter they sent out! I feel like calling them, like you said , it's prime time for them to get the thing out, It's not like we have something else to play on our wii's :P
Yes, I as a German feel terrible for you. Just because we have a rating board that seriously plays the game it's supposed to rate and not just watch videos like the ESRB. So sorry :p
I bet it has to do with the shape of the Keyblade. If I ever got held up for something so minor, I would just not release it there at all until they fixed their messed-up classification process. I would not want to insult an entire audiences with that kind of wait for something so trivial.
@ Excel-2011- Oh yeah, I'm not saying that they should release it in Germany now. I'm saying they should put it out in the US if the ESRB is done with it. No use in getting the game an M rating in Germany.
@ Felix- No need to apologize! I still love the Germans.
I'm not sure if I would bite at this game, but the Wii drought is definitely some BS. Getting La-Mulana out there for the hungry Wii gamers would be a blessing in disguise.
@nukem4ever12345: Believe me, there were reasons, they fell for it, it didn't come out of nowhere.
Regarding the USK, I don't think that so many people like it. Well, Felix here may be an exception :P
But I had multiple problems with the USK, some ratings are bullshit. The swastika thing however is more of a political problem, so I guess the USK isn't to blame in this case.
It gives in depth information. Thanks for this valuable information for all. And of course nice review about the Veterans fight and their present prospect

THE PLOT THICKENS
Do they have exceptions for that kind of swastika?
All Nazi shapes are illegal in Germany. They don't another Hitler to be born there again. They want to erase that past.
But you can never erase the past.

They fell for it because they believed his lies and propaganda. They see that now and don't want another mistake.
