L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories coming to eBooks photo

A new anthology of short stories based on characters and situations from Rockstar Games' upcoming L.A. Noire will be available for digital download in June through major eBook vendors.

"L.A. Noire draws on a rich history of not just film, but also great crime literature for inspiration,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “Using the game’s world as a springboard, we worked with the genre’s best writers to create stories that lived up to the finest traditions of crime fiction."

"L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories" includes stories from writers Megan Abbott, Lawrence Block, Joe Lansdale, Joyce Carol Oates, Francine Prose, Jonathan Santlofer, Duane Swierczynski and Andrew Vachss. Those that have played the game will recognize names and cases in these new stories that expand on the game's world.

The game will be released on May 17th and the eBook will follow on June 6th.

This is actually pretty awesome. One of the biggest draws to this game, for me, is the ability to solve mysterious as a detective - something I've enjoyed doing since reading Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories.

I hope these stories are just as entertaining!

I don't know man, I think that you would probably be better off reading some old school pulpy hard boiled detective/noir authors work like Dashiell Hammett or Raymond Chandler which this stuff is openly aping.
