L.A. Noire looks set to be receiving some exclusive content on the PlayStation 3, according to several pieces of evidence. The content comes in the form of a new mission, The Consul's Car Traffic Case, and Rockstar itself has promised details soon.
Fans were first tipped off to the news by Amazon and GameStop, both of which feature PS3 box art bearing the legends, "Exclusive content" and "Only on PS3." This was later followed by Rockstar Network uncovering a promotional image mentioning the content by name.
At the time of writing, Rockstar is not confirming any exclusive content, but has acknowledged that Car Traffic Case is a thing. It has stated that "more details on that are coming soon."
While the Xbox 360 usually strong-arms itself some timed exclusives, the PS3 has come up trumps in the past with some cool extras of its own, so it won't be surprising to see L.A. Noire following the likes of Arkham Asylum. The question is -- would it influence your purchasing decision?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Now I have a reason to get this for the PS3 instead of the 360.
I'd think the exclusive content would be the way to go, assuming the timed DLC is released to all platforms eventually, and the exclusive content stays exclusive, neither of which is always the case.
I just hope it's actual EXCLUSIVE rather than TIMED exclusive, because timed exclusivity, no matter which companies are supplying or paying for it, is a fucking DICKMOVE.
Feel free to render my comment invalid if it turns out that Rockstar isn't releasing exclusive content on PS3.
Joker from Arkham Asylum, did he ever make it to 360?
I always go by the system first hell I bought dead space 2 on 360.
Since I preferred getting the sequel on the same system as the original rather than getting Extraction for free
But what matters is that this game will bs awesome, no matter what system you get.

I agree with you, and I have a PS3. The only time I like exclusives is when it's balanced, such as a Sony character on the PS3 version and a Microsoft character on the 360 version. Otherwise, it's unfair to the gamer and greedy on the part of the publisher and/or developer. Still, I suppose it's hard to turn down money.
Simple solution... get both systems. There are enough exclusives on 360 and PS3 to warrant having both. And once you do it's a glorious thing.
I chose to spend my $200 on my daughter's gymnastic lessons. But feel free to ship me an Xbox, money bags. I'm sure you work real hard for your cash and have real responsibilities beyond your own self interests so i understand if you can't... but then your comment wouldn't make any sense.
Why would I ship you an Xbox? Because your sad ass can't afford one? And money bags? You got me, I totally broke the bank with that $200. Haters gonna hate.
You have a prolapse dude? Cause you're acting butthurt. Just cause a dude can afford two systems doesn't mean he didn't earn it. No one gives a damn about the fact that you blew two benji's on gym lessons for your kid. That doesn't imply responsibility, just as Flux's comment doesn't imply irresponsibility. Get over yourself.
Yup. Just sayin IF you can swing getting both systems then all these exclusives mean nothing. Also thanks for including a prolapse reference.
No, but the fact that he assumes his 'simple solution' is simple. There's nothing simple about just dropping $200 for me, and i imagine, a lot of people. Of course it's relative. If you have income that exceedes your expenses than fine. My point was that his 'solution' is not 'simple' or practicle for the majority. It comes down to your perception of worth. If you work hard for your dollar it will mean more. That's we're my own assumption comes from. I assume that his willingness to patronize those that don't own multiple systems relates to his earn/cost ratio. And that's why i responded... it's simple and immature to assume people can drop their cash like that. It imposes your own situation on the majority.
I suggest you take the 'Diloma4t' out of your name because you instigate rather than solve.
And what the hell do you mean by 'prolapse'? No, all of my internal organs are internal.
fluxanimator said that instead of people voicing their displeasure of a situation they should instead buy two gaming systems. Sorry, but I don't buy that logic. That's not a reasonable solution for many people, and not being able to do so should NOT preclude their right to tell developers and publishers that they dislike a particular business practice.
Sir, I believe you have me mistaken for someone else. I do not care for your explanation of why you perceive his comment as immature, because the fact that you responded in the way you did to him with a "mightier than thou" attitude absolutely abolishes any credibility you could have had. Life is hard. Money is tight. Get over it.
And don't suggest that I change my name based on the fact that you're incapable of understanding irony and wit. Im sure everyone else here understood what I meant by prolapse.
Do you really think developers will ever stop with the exclusive content? No. Solution? Just get both systems. Can't afford it? No problem. But because I can doesn't mean I'm some crazy rich asshole. I'm not the one that came across like my shit doesn't stink. Next time I'm getting ready to buy something cool with my own money maybe I should buy a hobo a 3DS instead.
And complaining is a better solution? At least one acomolishes something. Regardless of your opinion, his solution is not a reason for people to throw fits like this.
"Life is hard. Money is tight." Simple... buy another system. You consider that a mature choice?
Wow. You got me, I hate kids and people should spend all their money on games, not children. Sounds like someone is a bit sensitive. Good job bringing your stupid personal issues over to a videogame site.
I appreciate your clarification. I have no problem with you and i appreciate your understanding that some people are not in the position to buy multiple systems. Enjoy
You know what? I stopped at the part where you said you admire the staunch FU stance were taking against people who have to "make the hard choice to take care of their children."
For one who likes to tout responsibility, you should realize that it's
NOT a choice. It's a damn mandate that happens right at conception. Whether or not you honor that mandate is up to the individual. By your statement, you're playing the victim to try to validate your watery arguement. Even then, gymnastic lessons are NOT required for your child's well being, thus is not "taking care of your children" as much as it's paying for optional extra curricular activities.
