We've just received this trailer for Kung-Fu Live, the game that has you moving your body much like you would in a Microsoft Natal game, but without the Natal tech. This is a PlayStation Network release for PS3, actually. From when we first heard about the game we've been wondering how it would work. Now, thanks to this trailer, we have a pretty good idea.
You actually step inside the game, where you'll punch, kick and jump, making your way through enemies waves. The game scans your motions in real time, so you're able to even duck to dodge a flying kick. Later in the trailer you'll see special moves like a "power punch" and a "ground shaker" that look to be pretty fun.
"The trailer unveils a closer look at this project, which represents a long-time goal of ours to let gamers truly step into the world of a fast-paced fighting game using their own likeness without the need for a backdrop,” said Teemu Mäki-Patola, CEO of Virtual Air Guitar Company Ltd. “The player’s motions do not equate to button-presses in our game. The full range of their body IS the controller, allowing a wild and frenetic gaming experience that challenges players to execute both real and exaggerated martial arts moves against an advanced and aggressive AI system."
God, I'm sweating just watching this. It really looks like a workout! They tell us that the game will be on the E3 show floor to try. I'm not sure that I'm ready to have everyone watch me jumping around like a dumb ass.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Casual gamers can flail around with the Eye.
Hardcore gamers get their tactile feedback and depth perception with the Move wand.
Win:win.
What I don't understand is why Sony didn't push the Eye hardcore like 3-4 years ago, when the Wii was getting big. They could have already had their piece of the pie ages ago.
@jasonspaz give it a few months MS will introduce a handheld controller for Natal/Wave.
talk about response times when you havnt even played both move and natal???
Natal doesn't have a controller.
The phrase "you are the controller" means - there is no controller.
Move has a controller.
Hence, Natal cannot do everything Move can.
How will you play Gears of War 3 then, or any other FPS for that matter that features 10 plus hotkeys? I think by saying "Natal doesn't need a controller", then introducing brand new AAA titles that, in fact, needs a controller, makes the Natal already come off as gimmicky.
Move has you covered. No, you don't need a controller for a handful of games - but the games you DO need a controller for (FPS games, RTS games, MMOs), you have one.
wasn't there a video of someone playing half life 2 with natal?
Oh god I remember that. It was so humiliating (but oddly satisfying)
Anyway I think Move looks better than Natal. And that doesn't stem from fanboyism.
I like buttons.
Both Natal and Move are dumb.
Project Milo is real, however all footage shown on it is staged. IGN, Kotaku, 1up, and I believe joystiq have all posted articles on it.

Not trying to be biased, as I hope MS shows something worthwhile at E3. So far all we've seen that seems real is dodge ball, some crap kayak game, and this horrible, glitchy mess last year....

Please MS, show something at E3 that makes Natal seem like more then a waste of time.
There's a video of someone looking around in circles in Half Life 2 with Natal.
Not switching weapons, not shooting, not moving, not jumping, not crouching, using alternate fire, using the gravity gun to aim projectiles, throwing a grenade, or anything.
Any Half Life 2 is a very bare-bones game as far as features go. I can't imagine how poorly it would work with Halo: Reach, if they abolished the controller function (which they're not doing, because it would be a failure, and couldn't be played competitively, which would ruin a lot of their market).
Or
Just natal.
I know where my money's going.
Seriously, this looks average but still takes the piss out of everything I've seen of natal. Funny shit. Good work Sony, way to piss on microshafts fire.
I lol'd.
Also, I have all 4 consoles, so I can be as biased or unbiased as I want without being a fanboy: Without any real impressive(read: non-casual) implementation, Sony Move and Xbox Wave are BOTH shit.
It is! It's a great game, but all you really use the entire game is the gravity gun. You can't do anything super-human (which is part of the draw of the game) like super jumping, flying, or dodging, and there aren't a whole lot of weapons. It's a cinematic experience that doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles.
This Sony games looks meh, but really I see no difference from this demo and the dodgeball demo/raft demo that Natal is doing as the PS Eye can throw balls at you and you can doge them if thats your thing but I see the Move controllers as being more ideal for games as the Wii has done.
WAM BAM KA-POW! Right in the kissah!
I don't know why my foot would end up facing the TV, but eh.

Just wanted to leave a quick comment to say that your blog was beautiful. I found it on google search after going through much more information that was not really relevant. I thought I would find it much before examining how the information is correct.
