Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

While many of you might not remember this, The Kore Gang was a title originally announced for release on the original Xbox some six years ago. The title was never released, eventually fading into obscurity as Microsoft moved into what was then known as the "next-gen."

Well it's back, simply known as Kore, and has now found a home on the Wii. The game -- which has a very Psychonauts feel and look -- puts players in a cybernetic K.O.R.E. suit that enhances the wearer's abilities. With a focus on action and puzzles, Kore will allow you to control three characters: Pixie, Madboy, and the dog Rex, each of which will have different powers when donning the suit.

The developers claim that that Kore has innovative gameplay "designed for the Wii," but that's questionable considering the game was originally conceived for another console. That's not to say they haven't made considerable changes to adapt to Nintendo's console, evinced by the inclusion of "3 unlockable mini-games."

I joke, of course; I'm all for original IPs on any console, and Kore -- at the very least -- has an interesting aesthetic. The game will be on display at Leipzig Games Convention this year, so we should be hearing some more soon.

Check the mini-fact-sheet after the jump. And if you're feeling saucy, do a Google search for "The Kore Gang" and try to spot the changes.

[Update: Now with video after the jump!]

About "KORE"

With three zany, kooky crackpots sharing a cybernetic K.O.R.E suit, insane action is guaranteed. After all, the suit enhances the wearer's abilities beyond imagination. Pixie becomes a pro at climbing, Madboy gains an iron fist, and the dog Rex develops astonishing senses of hearing and smell.

And these super powers they will desperately need as they jump, run and fight their way through the wonderful, whimsical world of “KORE”. Your job is to cleverly utilize their different abilities to free the kooky inventor Dr. Samuelsen from the evil Krank Brothers who are attacking from the center of the Earth.

Explore a vast game universe packed with action, puzzles and countless surprises. Meet strange characters and even stranger creatures as you unravel the game’s off-the-wall storyline. Become the leader of a wacked-out team three times more demented, three times weirder, and three times stronger than one hero alone!

Features:
  • 6 graphically distinct worlds
  • Dozens of different enemies and challenging boss fights
  • 3 unlockable minigames
  • Hollywood quality in-game movies and voice acting
  • Innovative gameplay „Designed for Wii“
  • Hilarious story and characters
  • Unique art style
  • Highly original and imaginative.

After listening to yesterdays Podtoid, I've realized how often the word INNOVATIVE is used, and now I'm sick of it too, slapping waggle of a 6 year old X-Box game does not equal innovative.

Oh sweet. It's always nice to see a revival of a game.

Ooh, an old Xbox game? It's a shame they'll have to downgrade the graphics.

Thank you, I'll be here all week.

The use of three protagonists who wear a suit of special armor and have their own special abilities is oddly reminiscent of Jet Force Gemini on the N64. That game was amazing, actually.

You can tell this is 6 years old... They list how many stages, and state an innumerable amount of enemies!

Remember when that was a prominent feature: How many levels/weapons/enemies you had in a game? Invokes memories of Redneck Rampage, Doom, ODT.

How do you all know the gameplay isn't being completely redone for the Wii? You don't, so stop pretending waggle is a certainty.

It could be, but you don't really know it is.
