Koopas invade Minnesota, fortunately on the decline photo

It must be really boring to live in Duluth, Minnesota. For whatever reason the denizens of Duluth bide their time by counting birds. Among the indigenous birds like the Turkey Vulture, Bald Eagle, and the great Rough-legged Hawk stalks mankind’s and Mario’s greatest enemy – the Koopa Troopa (or Koopius Troopio).

According to this chart, over 90 of these dangerous turtle-birds were spotted last week in Duluth. If these two numbers are any indication, it appears as though the great Koopa plague of Duluth, Minnesota is nearing an end. Finally, the people of this town will be able to do other things outside than counting birds and kicking around shells to get extra lives.

I haven’t the slightest idea if the chart is a clever Photoshop, but the picture above is fairly convincing. I contacted the King of Duluth for response to the numbers but he did not get back to us before press time. Are the Koopas really receding in the region? Has Bowser gained a foothold? Unfortunately, only time will tell.

[via Perfect Duluth -- Thanks, Zac!]

At least they don't have to deal with headcrabs on a daily basis.

I'd rather live with crotchcrabs, then live in Minnesota.

I have been to Duluth, and I can attest that it is fairly boring there, unless you really like to ski or fishing depending on the weather, even though it tends to be cold there since it is farther north.

I went to college last year in Duluth. Good thing I transferred out of there. I can't jump to high.

But srsly,I loved it there. And if that's where I THINK it is, I've been to that picture place. Unless it's not where I THINK it is and it is in fact, somewhere else.

Fuck you, Sadistic. Minnesota is awesome. Granted Duluth can be boring as hell, but the rest of the state is great. Fuck your coasts.

This.

I always liked Ely more. I'm more of a woodsman than a coastal guy.

I'm live in St. Paul.

They should be close to you by now Wookie, as the migration south starts they will definitely come through Monticello. Postings to come with time tables and a droppings report. That is all

I see the Dtoid community left its sense of humor elsewhere, today.

I once met King Koopa. Perhaps I can sway him to spare Duluth in favor of somewhere more interesting? Perhaps Amsterdam, I am sure they would have something interesting to do with Koopas.

fun fact: Dennis Hopper = King Koopa.

ZOMG IT'S CLEARLY A KOOPA PARATROOPA WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY?!?!?!?!11!

The, uh... the regular Koopa Troopa... he just, um, walks. Sorry. It's late and I accidentally took all my meds for next month.

That chart is a pretty poor Photoshop.

I live in Duluth...and I have never experienced a koopa attack, this is very unsettling. Yeah duluth is kind of boring, but it's a beautiful city and we get some good local music...
