Konami to publish Ninety Nine Nights 2 in America? photo

Despite the original game flying under the Microsoft Game Studios banner, Konami surprisingly took up the mantle and revealed that it was publishing Ninety Nine Nights 2 in Japan. Now it seems the company will go one step further and handle the worldwide distribution of the 360-exclusive Dynasty Warriors clone.

GameFly has named Konami as Ninety Nine Nights 2's North America publisher, along with two other Xbox 360 titles, Xbox Live Compilation Vol. 1 and Xbox Live Compilation Vol. 2.

Ninety Nine Nights was one of the big games Microsoft pimped during the Xbox 360 launch hype, and it seemed quite glad to be publishing it. Of course, it turned out to be a poor man's Dynasty Warriors and really wasn't very good at all, so that may be why the platform holder is happy to let Konami take the reins. I wonder if it's still exclusively tied to the Xbox 360 now. Perhaps PS3 fans will also have to suffer.

I loved the first one, I thought it was far superior to Dynasty Warriors and filled the void left by Kingdom under fire. I hope they do bring it to western countries, I'll definately be buying it.

I do not understand this sentence.

I recall it as a guilty pleasure, a pretty good game. I picked it up used. If I'd spent $60 on it, I'm sure I would have been disappointed.

Did anyone actually understand the story in the first one? I gave up at about the point where I was playing as a twelve year old girl on a broomstick. I hope they bring back the half-orc guy...

The first one was incredibly superior to Dynasty Warriors. Explain to me how anyone still enjoys DW after the 10th iteration across 6 or 7 platforms. At least N3 had some (more than DW) god damned originality. Not a bunch of drawn out battles between dead Chinese warlords. And no Yellow Turban Rebellion either.

Anybody who claims N3 is better than Dynasty Warriors is a liar.

I really liked the first 3 dynasty warriors, but now that there are about 13, which simply haven't changed at all, I can't stand them. I like N3 because the draw distance was actually greater than 3 feet, there was blood and I wasn't fighting the same Japanese guy a thousand times (what the hell is his problem). There was also a shallow combo system and you could move the damn camera.

Oh and for the record I don't lie, I 'truth change' and that is why I drive a Maserati and my wife still has sex with me 3 times a week.

I'm more interested in that Xbox Live Compilation vol.1 & 2.
Is it gonna be a collection of XBLA games like Braid, Castle Crashers and Shadow Complex for retail? If so, that would be awesome.
