Konami recruiting for 'new developments' in MGS series photo

Konami have posted up a new Japanese job listing that appears to be the equivalent of a pedophile’s ancient van with the words “free ice cream” scrawled hastily on the side. The ad is asking for recruits to work on “new developments” in the Metal Gear series for consoles and “portable arcades” (according to IGN). The page is also asking for help in various award-winning games such as Winning Eleven, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball, and Bemani.

That’s right -- sweet MGS taste, then horrible Bemani torture.

The MGS ad could mean anything, especially with the ambiguous phrase “new developments.” Through careful and rational thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that the ad is referring to Metal Gear Solid V: Raiden versus Earth. It’s a game that will put players in the role of the Earth’s various elemental forces in an attempt to kill Raiden. With revolutionary SIXAXIS controls, players will harness the power of wind to strike Raiden to the ground, where they can then shake the controller to create craters, spikes of mountain, or even bottomless lava pits.

MGS V: Raiden vs. Earth is coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and iPhone at some point next year.

Does this mean I'll finally get my Meryl and Mei Ling Adventures MGS Side Story?

Konami, you guys really need to make something new. Is MGS all you have now?

I'd actually like to see a Raiden spinoff game (now that they redeemed him from #2), otherwise I'd like to see a spinoff involving Johnny (Akiba) from #4... the guy just tears through a shitload of Frogs near the end of 4 and he's not even using nanobots or any of that shit, plus he looks like young snake.

Solid Snake approves of this war economy. Every bullet he shoots, every person he kills, is a extra dollar put inside the coffers of the war economy! Oh the irony. We demand moar war!

I second the exploration of Akiba and Raiden in a new game. Both characters had such interesting stories in MGS4, I'd love to see where they go with them. I have 2 ideas.

1) I'd like a game that explores what happened to Raiden in the time between 2 and 4. I won't go into detail, but you know what I mean if you've played them.

2) I think it would be cool if Johnny becomes the next Snake, picking up where Old Snake left off. Am I the only one who got that vibe from him? He was pretty bad ass.

Agreed! I would LOVE if raiden was the next lead character in MGS5 however I wouldn't like to see Akiba as the main character. He doesn't fit the part he is not stoic like Solid Snake or the MGS4 Raiden. If Raiden was the next main character it would be like playing as grey fox in the VR missions. That was alot of fun, only with Raiden it can be the whole game, not 3 missions that only last a second.
