On topic, I'm taking a wait and see approach. Either way it ends up won't suprise me in the least, whether that means PS3 exclusive or port. Oh, and what idiot mentioned that the PS3 has been outselling the 360? Did I miss that or did something crazy happen worldwide that made Sony catch up for the ass-raping that's been going on in NPD numbers?

Wow, flame on my friends. I'd have to say as a PS3 owner it would please me to see MGS4 hold this one out as a permanent exclusive.

I'm tired of hypocritical, self-centered 360 fans who are greedy for PS3 exclusive titles AND clutch to 360 exclusives greedily like little toddlers. Growup. There may not be as many ps3 owners, but there are still at least 7 million worldwide at this point, nothing to cough at. Stop whining and practically demanding PS3 exclusives while you selfishly refuse to acknowledge the PS3 fanbase.

Jim: I think this is waht Actionbastard is talking about. yes if it goes to the 360 more people will play it, but what about 360 to PS3, in that case more people would play it as well. But almost nobody defends the wish for a 360 to PS3 port. All around it's just simple fanboyism and selfishness.

A: These same PR folks told us it would be out in 2007.

B: Sony still doesn't have the number of installed consoles that M$ does, and it's unlikely that the number of installed PS3's will reach the number of installed 360s, simply because while the PS3 is outselling the 360, they're not doing by a large enough margin to make up for the year and a half they're already behind. It makes sense to spend money to port an exclusive for a system with a smaller installed base to a system with a larger installed base. It doesn't always make sense to port an exclusive for a system with a larger installed base to a system with a smaller one, unless you've already made your money back. In that case, spending a chunk of profits to move the game to a less prolific console is just icing. The PS3 is finally getting a bit of a library. Still not enough to make me buy one. Sorry. Oh, and stop calling Ninja Gaiden: Sigma a PS3 exclusive. I've already played it three different times, and never on a PS3.

C: This is one 360 owner that just doesn't care about metal gear anymore. There are so many new IPs for any console out there, I really don't want to play the same old metal gear adventure yet again. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a new adventure, with surely new mechanics, but I just don't give a damn anymore. If it does eventually make it to the 360, I won't get it until it hits the bargain bin, and only then if I have nothing NEW AND ORIGINAL to play.

And finally, D: Only lazy dev's are limited by DVD9. If you code efficiently, 9 gigs is plenty. Remember how vast the world was in GTA: San Andreas? DVD9. How about Oblivion? DVD9. Besides, who wants to wait for 20GB of data to load from an optical drive?

@Usedtable: GTA IV isn't an exclusive title, the DLC is exclusive. GTA IV's exclusive content pales in comparison to a complete exclusive game of the same rank (AAA). MGS4 is the most talked about, hyped, and look forward to exclusive game of 2008. PS3 people can still play GTA IV on the PS3, just without some side quests, which by the way will have months of time between when they will become available.

@Sharpless: I give a fuck about Sony just as much as I do XBox 360. Competition between consoles keeps everyone looking towards the next best thing rather than the mass majority of products just looking to be acceptable enough to make a profit (if even that).

@Kingme - I think 360 exclusives SHOULD be ported to the PS3. Having access to games like Bioshock, mass effect, and dead rising would be great for them, and it means many more people get to have the experiences that make me glad I bought a 360. A larger audience is better for everyone, and even if every game were available on all current platforms, they're not going to be identical by any means. Existing cross platform titles often have differences that allow (force) gamers with all the systems to decide which platform to play it on.

I think that Jim and I and many others are in the same boat: we wanted to get a PS3, and they have yet to really make that worthwhile.

I've not much mind to read some of the reactionary hypocritical drivel coming out of the mouths of people who are using the term "fanboy" to cover their own tracks, but I will just point out that while I'd like to see MGS4 and FFXIII on the 360, I also wouldn't cry and whimper if BioShock came to the PS3. Why? Because that game deserves to be played by everyone.

I actually care about people playing awesome games, not my own selfish sense of pride because omg a faceless corporation that I am living vicariously through lost some exclusives.
