This is a stupid offer, I throw my receipts away right after I open the game. Then again, if I had purchased this mess of an hd collection I'd return it for store credit anyway
That's a cheap cop-out. Konami is just giving away games few people care about to clear their inventory for instant PR. They should be more focused on polishing up their legitimately good games which many enjoyed, rather than giving those same people, oh you know, such fantastic games of the year like Blades of Time, or Neverdead.
Instead of spending money on fixing something, they decide it's more economic to give away a bunch of crappy games and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Why do you even try anymore, Konami?

Seems it takes a lot more effort to do this than to just patch the damned game. It's like Konami is actively trying to be obnoxious.
Perhaps if a company admits that it's product is broken at the design level, yet refuses to cease selling it, it is time for BBBB en masses? (Better Business Bureau Bomb, obviously not literally a bomb though) Pretty sure what they are doing is illegal in the US.

While a little harsh I have to agree with thenopeman. Why pay a premium to beta test a game? There's really no way to know how broken a game is at release. Ease up on the purchase trigger and wait to find out if it's actually worth buying before you get your wallet out.
Who the hell saves their receipts for purchases made months ago? Not to mention... name one Konami game in the last year worth "exchanging" this for (Lords of Shadow is 2 years old).

Pretty sure it's less of a fuckaround to roll into a Cashies store somewhere & pick up an old console and the original games for far less cash to boot. It's not HD, but at least back then the games were actually finished before they shipped.
You don't get a "free game" really. I just received an email from their customer service that stated Konami want your copy of SH:HD in return... it's an exchange. BRUTAL.
As good as a free exchange sounds, its till horrible that Xbox 360 owners can't play SHHDC. Konami must pay.

Wait... It says "exchange" not that its giving us another game. So which is it? is it an exchange for the game they broke (hopefully not for another one thats equally broken, I already got NeverDead for $6 recently, and I really hated the broken ass demo for Blades of Time) or are they really just giving you a free game?

While I'm kind of inclined to agree in some cases (*cough* Bethesda *cough*) its called a "release date", not a "We'll put it out for you to wait date"
The problem really is that this generations allowed for games to be rushed out the door, or go unfinished, simply on the back of "we'll fix it with a patch", just so the publisher can make a faster profit instead of doing what they're supposed to do and give us a functioning game.
You can't really fault people for wanting what they've been promised, on the day its promised, even though so many publishers have really made it clear thats not what they're going to give to them.
