Konami announces Shadow of Destiny for PSP photo

We kind of already knew this, but act surprised for Konami's sake.

The really strange but totally original PlayStation 2 title Shadow of Destiny is making its way to the PSP, Konami announces today. As I've said before, there's plenty of endings to go through (I think eight in total), so you might as well jump on the portable version and get to the ones you missed before. The puzzle-based game play should make for a good portable game. Nice pick, Konami.

The press release is totally loose on a date, only giving us "2010." Here's hoping they do a dual download and UMD release.

why do we always know Konami's news before they announce it? What's up with that?

Never heard of it >_>.

But I'm buying a PSP-3000 really soon (Dissidia special edition! =D), so sweetness indeed.

This is not a videogame as much as it is an interactive movie. It's still great fun though.

I had this for the PC, lost it, then found it again at a Big Lots haha... but this is pretty awesome for those who never have played it.

A classic, great example of originality in videogames, played and looked great.

Overlooked as FUCK.

Everyone should check it out so maybe we can get a sequel (obvious wishful thinking).

I liked the game back in the day but I never picked it up myself. So I'll be picking this up on the PSP.

This makes a lot of sense, actually. Adventure games are seeing a small resurgence lately. This is a good way for Konami to cash in on the trend in time. They don't have to build a new game from the ground up, and give an overlooked cult hit a new audience. Everyone wins. I kind of wish they'd re-release Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner in the states now.

Very true, this game is an interactive movie but one of the best ones I've ever played. I just loved Shadow of Destiny's story, and the homunculus is the best character in the whole game. What makes this game so great is that is has some puzzles, kinda challenging at first, but then you kinda catch on. And also I'm a fan of alternate endings and this games has about 6 of them.

Damn, this story made me want to play this game again. Instead of waiting for the PSP version, I just picked up a used PS2 copy on eBay for $10.

This is a really awesome little title, nice to see get a chance to shine again.

Also there's only 4 endings, you unlock the 5th after getting all 4.

Just a re-release? I've already got this for the PS2. I won't be getting this one unless they add some pretty drastic content.

Shadow of Memories (as it was called here in Australia), is a good game.... in some ways. Certainly was very memorable and different. Voice acting for the main character was a little weak, and he had freak-like legs that animated badly when the main character was walking.

It was a great game that got lost in the launch shuffle back in the day, so I'm glad someone out there thought it was worthy of another look. Loved the time travel element too; it was like a serious version of Day of the Tentacle.

I liked this one. But I really hated the homunculus character. Or maybe just the voice-over.

Bit of trivia: Know who did the voice of the Homunculus? Mario himself, Charles Martinet. I was shocked when I first heard about this.

Also, for those who liked Shadow of Destiny, you might want to give Time Hollow a try, if you haven't already. It's pretty cool as well, for many of the same reasons.
