I love Kojima, but I really think he should stop making MGS games for a while. It's not bad for a good series to continue on for a long time, but everytime he's interviewed about the games it sounds like he wants to make something else.
If Kojima is that committed to the Metal Gear franchise, when he dies he should be placed in an inconspicuous cardboard box.
Hmm, as much as I love Metal Gear, I actually think he should actually end it. It's already a little too overblown and convoluted, and I'd like to see him focus on creating something new. He's obviously a ridiculously creative guy, and I'd like to see what he comes up with starting from scratch.
And here I was thinking that the unnecessarily convoluted and trite stories of MG would die with him.
Kojima won't die. They will give him the raiden treatment and immortalize him so he can make metal gear games until the end of time.

Most people complaining about MGS needing to end weren't very big fans to begin with. Considering all the other games which continue such as Zelda with no objections.
However I agree he should find a better way to balance making MGS as well as other games

And this is how you ruin series. It's not about the fans. You make it as long as there is something worth telling. Once you say what you have to say, move on and let it go.
I love MGS, but do something new. New IPs are great things because they can introduce us to new things, new ideas and new concepts.

I'm pretty sure he's stated many times before that he wants the real sequel of metal gear 4 to start fresh since the snake saga is over. New characters, new time era etc. That could be cool. But maybe not lol. I could go for some policenauts however
I'd love a MGS reboot. A whole new universe, but with similar gameplay. THAT is what they should do, not continue an already finished told story. Any one with me?

He should stop making MGS for the next ten years and make ZotE3, ZotE4, and a bunch of side games that convolute the plot. Then the series will be equal!

Is it wrong of me to dismiss any MG that Kojima didn't direct? I just want to the deny them...
Bought MGS1 on PSN the other day, and blocky graphics aside, the gameplay (which is now 14 years old) is better than almost every game I've played this year. Kojima is an amazing visionary and really LOVES his games. I don't MG to be some franchise brand. It'll end up like final fantasy post-Sakaguchi...i.e I never played FF13.

I know people are just going to say "but its a money maker, why leave it for any length of time?" but, seriously, he can walk away from it for a few years and make something else. Demand the series take at least a short hiatus. The series is one of my favorites but it feels like theres been an overflow it feels like since the game jumped over to the PSP. Even now as we're getting all these HD remakes we're suddenly drowning in Metal Gear, the same Metal Gears we've already played once or twice or 30 times over, all over again. Which is great and all but also stifling, for both us and Kojima it seems. Hell, its even seems to have made Rising completely disappear from the radar, which is pretty sad considering Risings -supposedly- new take on the series.
We all know he wants to do a new Zone of the Enders, he's been talking about it for YEARS now. I don't think the 3DS one is going to cut it for him, since it sounds like a 3D remake of a prior game. He obviously wants to cut his teeth on something new and fresh. I think Konami as to step in, take the hit, and tell him to do it and forget the bottom line forged in the blood of Solid Snake for a couple of years.
And really, if he really does want it to go on after he dies, he's got to be able to let go somehow or he's going to spend his final days worrying about how someones going to screw it up rather then just resting and spending time with his loved ones. Thats no way to go at all.
