I bet you all have been waiting with bated breath as to what Kojima's teaser site is going to reveal, right? Brad had posted about the new countdown, and now we're being flooded with word about a new update. Yep, that's right! Another teaser site!
If you look in the bottom right-hand side of the page, the Kojima Production logo on the teaser site will change into a mask. Click it, and it'll take you to another teaser site! This time, we have a mysterious mask stare at us as the light fades in and out, with some looping music.
What does it mean? Like we've been saying, "damned if I know." Since we've been seeing Big Boss' face in the original teaser, I'm wondering if the mask has to do with the Beauty and the Beast unit we see in MGS4, and perhaps their origin. I realize they're a mix of FOXHOUND, Dead Cell, and Cobra Unit, but perhaps this new title will reveal some new facet of this part of the Metal Gear legacy.

Or maybe even could tie in to events before MGS4, with Jaeger being there and all. Though, I'm honestly leaning towards different game.
What other company was it that gave us a countdown to a countdown?

Good: Presents us with interesting new teasers and work. usually lets us forget about it for a while so the next time we see it we think it's fresh and awesome

Example: Kojima
I have the Art of MGS art book. In this artbook, there are pictures of Frank Jaeger, AKA Null, AKA Grey Fox, before and after his super soldier program procedure. In his pics he sports the same facial scar, as well as the metal teeth and jawline, just like those on the Konami website image.
Notice the scar is covered in the new image, meaning its recent (caused by either Big Boss or Snake. I also suspect his jawline was replaced due to damage in Zanzibar and his government upgrades. Now, Jaeger was a former comrade of Snake, and due to the Zanzibar Incident, Jaeger was keen and angry for a showdown with Snake, as seen in MGS/MGS Twin Snakes. Jaeger also still has his blonde locks in the new image, which means this is the past. Big Boss also looks very youthful in his pic.
So there you have it. We are getting an MGS prequel from Konami (as you'll see next week), to learn the origins of Snake, Big Boss, Grey Fox, Foxhound etc. Just get me a 360 version too, Konami.
I've just barely started playing the first Zone of the Enders, and I'd love to play through the second one. I'm interested to see if this would have something to do with a third one --- The music on the teaser site kind of reminds me of the series.
That's a mask, right? It says so in the URL. Hmm, a mask that looks kind of like a spirit, or a ghost...
Kojima has something to do with Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse?

I think the "Next" and the "Mask" site are teasing two different games though.
Even though this countdown thing is really starting to drag on, I can't help but say somewhat interested in this thing. Seeing Kojima behind (possibly) two games at once raises my curiosity by a lot.
This new picture looks more related to that Lord of Shadow game, perhaps an official announcement of his involvement with the game and a updated trailer will follow?
Kojima said when MGS4 was released that there is still alot of the metal gear universe that has not been explained that people will want to know. This is what they are doing. Tieing up loose ends

Grey Fox is badass. Should be cool to see what Big Boss is like, as well as any other supporting characters.

METAL GEAR MAKES MONEY.
Almost any metal gear game, on almost any platform, will sell more than enough to make a very nice profit, a nice profit that companies during a recession would like to see. Kojima has said that he was thinking of new ideas for the next Metal Gear game, and I think it's completely taken over his life. It's all he can do. He's like Mark Hamil, perpetually being labeled as "Luke" - Kojima, despite making great Non-Metal-Gear games, is known as the "metal gear guy".
If I had money, I would invest in Konami. Because Metal Gear Sells. I'm not saying the games are good (although I think they're pretty good, not the be-all-and-end-all-of-gaming because the controls are pretty lousy) - I'm just remarking how there are a lot of gamers who would buy "Metal Gear themed shirts" and "Metal Gear Themed Soup cans" if they could. Kojima could make a meta-meta-meta-meta-meta, nigh incomprehensible game about Raiden baking muffins while destroying the Meta-bread-gear, which periodically flashes "YOU ARE A HOPELESS FANBOY" on the screen every 20 seconds along with "THANKS FOR THE CASH" and someone would still buy it and call it brilliant.
And that's why he's making a metal gear game. Because that stuff's pretty much gold in the bank.
Created a teaser site for a new Metal Gear (probably for PSP GO)
and linked that to a teaser for his new game (what ever that is)
This way all the Metal Gear fans are already fans of his new game and it will generate sales.......or so the theory probably goes.
