Kojima: No plans to bring his older franchises to iPhone photo

When asked today whether he considered revisiting some of his older franchises, particularly on the iPhone, designer Hideo Kojima blew off the notion.

"I'm a guy who just wants to throw away his past, so I'm not thinking of doing that," he said via a translator at a public event at San Francisco's Apple Store today. "If you see yourself in a picture from a long time ago, you get embarrassed, right? It's the same kind of feeling."

In terms of working on more iPhone games -- new ideas or even new IPs -- Kojima is hesitant to confirm his plans. He is thinking about what to do next, even (perhaps jokingly) hinting at what's going on in his head.

"You know that light saber [app]? I want to create something really crazy," he says. "You know, the game where you move the boobs? I want to create something like that!"

He's embarassed of rereleasing old games? Does he thinks his old games suck? The man himself seems to think of alot of crazy ideas.

I never would have marked the Hideo-Kojima as one who carries old shame. Good for him that he wants to do new things, though.

The mark of a great designer, in my opinion. Wanting to put away his past ideas and accomplishments so that he can focus on creating something new and incredible.

He wants to throw away his past?

Has much as I like the Metal Gear Series........ He's not doing a very good job of throwing away anything. The poor man will be working on Metal Gear till the day he dies. Good for fans of the series. Bad for him.

Kojima is a ledge. I love how he's all modest and shy about his past even though he's produced the worlds greatest story game series.

You know what, Kojima deserves some time out to make boob wobbling games.
