Kojima: Just a few weeks away from Metal Gear reveal [Update: MGS iPhone?] photo

When it comes to that naughty little Metal Gear tease that hit the Internet a few weeks ago, we're just as in the dark as you are. iPhone game? Xbox 360 game? Are Pogs making a come back?

Who knows? Everyone will soon enough, according to Metal Gear daddy Hideo Kojima. Speaking to 1UP's Sam Kennedy at the Spike VGAs this past weekend, Kojima said all will be revealed soon. To be more specific, he said it would happen over the next few weeks. 

What could Kojima and company be planning for the new year? Who knows, but my money's on the Pog thing. 

[Update: Oh hey, by "next few weeks" we meant minutes. A supposed scan from the latest issue of Famitsu (via GoNintendo) reveals that the Metal Gear game in question is for the iPhone/iPod Touch.

So there's that. More info soon -- including validation of this scan -- we hope. Thanks to ajay42 for quickly pointing this out.]

I was really hoping for either a PSP game or 360 port of MGS 4. Anything would have been fine really... Except this.

I don't have any grudge against Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo. I do however have a huge grudge against Apple and would sooner abandon gaming than give them my money.

Interesting! who the hell knows that that equation means. might be MGS on I phone OR maybe MGS4 on IMac Computer! Think about it, with all that Mac computer product placement in it, maybe it'll go on that. Of course then again this could be a bran new metal gear and not MGS4. dun dun dunnnnnn.

Almost completely closed supply, software, and hardware architecture. Apple gets a cut of almost everything.

Also, they put out new products each year with "features" that they intentionally held back.

Both Windows based and Mac based PCs have their share of problems. I'm just not comfortable with a company which intentionally limits functionality and encourages incompatablity.

Then again Microsoft is no saint either...

Considering a PS3 is actually cheaper than an iPhone and only slightly more expensive than an iPod, if I wanted to play new Metal Gear that badly, I'd just shell out the money for a PS3.
