Wasn't Kojima was done with the Metal Gear franchise? I guess nothing else was working out for him so his cash cow is probably the safest bet for him.

Interesting though, I hope it's PS3/4 exclusive, making the game focused on one console will have more time designing the game, rather then getting everything smoothened out on two. They should get Rising out before that.
I wonder who the game will run about, is it a prequel to the events between liberty & mgs4? or will we see snake's final weeks? or is it all about Akiba? Maybe it's about a new character?

My hype was starting to fall away. But all of a suddon i'm exited again.
I hope he does rising AND 5 and that 5 covers a point in the story which has only been covered by old school games. Sure it'll be a prequel if it's a thing.

*sigh* He talks about plans for MGS5 which could and will probably mean he planned to do MGS5 before the finished MGS4 it is not confirmed. My bets is Rising is now being sold as MGS5

Rising isn't really a mainseries part, being about crazy cutting everything and all. But who knows, Kojima is unpredictable. He can very well show you trailer with Snake in it to give you a game where you play as Raiden. Maybe this time its the other way arround. ;)

It was strange when first details of Rising appeared I thought it was a spin off but when we where told it takes place during MGS2 and MGS4 i was expecting the game to become main series. The producer who came up with the new gameplay mechanic has been kicked out and the trademark for the Zan-Datsu name of gameplay has gone too. I think Kojima has took over got carried away and decided to make it a full MGS main series game.

You can say that he's "milking" the product, but it says a lot that your worst game was MGS2: Sons of Liberty.
Kojima. I love you. I really do. I'm sure if given the opportunity, my boyfriend would willingly let me have your children and then brag about it to everyone. But I thought MGS was done? We kind of finished it all up with MGS4. How about getting ZoE back in action? I think it's a good compromise.

There have been three games in which Big Boss was the main character already, which is kind of funny considering who the Solid series is named after. Please, enough about Big Boss and the Cold War, already.
Ugh. I'm actually not that excited by this. The MGS story just needs to be over. The more they add to it, the more convoluted and ridiculous it gets. 1 and 3 had great stories, but everything else was just an utter mess. Frankly, I'd be way more excited to see Kojima do something completely new.

Because -from the view point of a straight man who's completely comfortable with his sexuality- Kojima's a pretty damn good looking man. I'd even go as far as to say that there's an air of mystery that surrounds him -like if you don't see these photos you might miss something important.
Theres not very many people in this world I'd personally claim that about, but Kojima is certainly one of them.
Plus, he's a hero in the industry, that helps too.

I will: More clones.. or some loose thread that's hanging from the story no one noticed, like Snake (pick one) having a child that grows up to fight a whole new set of threats that get called Metal Gear.. Who knows? Probably one of the reasons we like to see pics of Kojima: We're hoping to get into that beautiful mind of his by stealing his soul with photographs.

Oh sure, Metal Gear games are always a hoot. What the video game world needs is a new Shadow Hearts.

The best Shadow Hearts to me, was the first one. Great characters, awesome music, great horror story, and fun combat.
That's in my top 10 favorite games. The sequels were terrible to me.

I saw a post that said that it's probably gonna be centred around big boss and the cobra unit. Makes sense I guess, as you can't really take snake much further unless it's about escaping a veteran aged care home.
